This record is so rare that I never truly thought I'd own it unless a repress miraculously happened down the road (which is unlikely). Let me tell you the story of what I got, why it was such a good deal, and the INSANE way that I ended up procuring it.

I have been through the same trauma with record orders and the USPS recently. They have come through every time. They could be more efficient and cost effective but that's no excuse to run them out of business. Tell me of ANY other government agency that MAKES money? Protect OUR Post Office! Make it better.....don't destroy it. Post rant I will say value is whatever you value ANYTHING at. Very much like the subjectivity of art itself. Want and beauty are in the eyes of the beholder.

I say disband the usps. They are trash, the government throwing more money at something has never worked. I'd rather pay more to use fedex or ups, while they are not perfect they are leagues better than garbage usps.

No mention by you of the drag on the USPS to fund their retirement beyond what anyone else does....private or public. Why do you give politicians a free pass from doing their jobs? We need our government to work and OUR employees in it to do their jobs. Like the private sector, if they can't they need to be replaced with someone who can. You are buying politicians telling you something can't be done that has been done practically since the inception of our country and is the only business that is in the Constitution. If a politician says we can't do something we've been doing for over 200 years than it is he/she that I question if they are up to the job.....not passing the buck.

I think you did the right thing. Some collectors fail to remember that some of these things that we have found, while high in value, can still be obtained. When you have a chance at a once in a lifetime grail, you have to jump on it (figuratively, of course) if you ever plan on owning it. Nice score and glad it all worked out for you.

Congratulations! That’s awesome that it turned out in a good way! You got so lucky! USPS has been horrible with Media Mail these days. I sent an album to my Dad within the same state of Michigan (lower to Upper Pennisula). It went to PA, WI, stayed at transit at each of their distribution centers for over a week each, then finally back to MI, and then took another 6-7 days just to get to him. Luckily it wasn’t damaged.

Score of a lifetime. I was in the 10 Club from 1998-2010, and big poster on Red Mosquito forum back in the day, and remember that coming up for sale. For whatever reason I didn’t buy (sold out before I could I think) and of course have been kicking myself ever since. There is a silver lining to this story however, because in 2003 I went to the 3 Boston shows, scoring front row seats (4) for 07/11/2003, which to this day is still the longest Pearl Jam concert they have ever performed. Congrats on getting your grail, I am genuinely psyched to see another PJ diehard score such a mythical copy of that amazing set.

Too Many Records very cool. The 2003 trifecta was unforgettable, and I would love to see that released as a vinyl box set. Ive been a fan from the start and I went to 15 shows between 1998-2010, all East Coast, mostly Boston/Mansfield, but also Hartford and New Jersey, big poster collector, 10 Club, Stickman tattoo, the whole nine. Started having kids and needed to explore other music so I took a big break. Well, after being seriously disenfranchised with Backspacer and Lightning Bolt I was blown away by Gigaton this year, and it relit the PJ spark in a big way. Needless to say I can’t wait to go see them live again.

I've been collecting records since 1966 and have been through all kinds of ups and downs.Take my advice. If somebody offers you a crazy amount of money for it, TAKE THE MONEY! I have many (once) valuable gems that lost their value later when the artist lost their appeal, or when the manufacturer reissued them with better quality and at a very low price. You can't know what the future will be. "A bird in the hand. . . . ."

Most expensive record I've acquired is the limited 1997 audiophile vinyl pressing of JM Jarre's Oxygene 7-13(the first sequel to 1976's Oxygene), at around $400 including shipping from the UK. This was after I had paid an arm and a leg ($150) for an Oxygene Trilogy box set that had the first and third albums on clear vinyl, but not the second(which was just on CD).

The one that has got to "take the cake" was a 7" 45 (Frank Wilson's "Do I Love You", on Berry Gordy's Soul label, demo only) that recently sold to UK multi millionaire Lee Jeffries for £100,000.

I was at those shows too, sitting amongst the Ten Club seating area and the gentleman that was sitting next to had 3 MINT / UNOPENED Benaroya Hall Box Sets in his vinyl collection! I know what it’s like to purchase a piece of music memorabilia and believe you me, there is nothing like waiting for that special purchase in the mail. I had purchased a Bob Crewe signed picture from an individual who met him at a radio station back in 1955. I made an offer and they accepted and could not wait to receive it while taking a while through the postal service. It finally arrived and I cherish that picture and I’m sure not to many of you young folks may know who Bob Crewe is but it means so much to me. So its not really $1200, you buy/sell/repeat until you can justify it. Thats fair justification for a hobby that brings you JOY which is what alot of people forget about vinyl. Its the sensation of the ear canal that we do this for, great story, even greater vinyl.

I used to work at the Post Office. I can tell you the usual path for a package. To start, ALWAYS, ALWAYS (I can’t say it enough) look at the tracking information. That will tell you EXACTLY where your package has traveled. If you look at the tracking information, you’ll usually see it accepted at a particular post office first. Sometimes, it will say “shipping label created”. This means that the package isn’t in the mailing stream yet. Usually after this, you’ll see where it was sent from (“departed from...”). Then it’s in the mail stream heading for its final destination. I might add here that in my first hand experience, I NEVER saw a package “sitting in a warehouse” as you said. What happens is that the higher classes of mail are the first priority to go out-Express Mail, Priority Mail, First Class, etc. Media mail is Fourth Class, so it’s at the bottom of the food chain as far as packages go. But all that means is that, after the higher classes of mail have been sorted and ready to go out, then they work the Media Mail. There are no further delays, except times like Christmas, where the Media Mail is held back so the trucks have room for all of the higher classes of mail first (and, BOY, is there EVER a lot of First Class and Priority Mail during the holidays!!!). However, when the Media Mail package reaches its destination post office, then it is treated the same as any other package (again, except for rush periods like Christmas, when the higher classes of mail need to be delivered first). I might add that the current brouhaha over the Post Office has to do whether it can handle all of the mail in ballots in the November elections due to COVID-19. It has NOTHING to do with package delivery. So, the fact that you received your package in near pristine condition is the general rule and not the general exception.

I have a record I ordered from the UK on October 14th 2020, in which I already got a refund for since it was lost somewhere, just yesterday I got a message from DHL that very package will be delivered in 4 days. IF it arrives, this will be the most time it has taken any package to get to me from anywhere outside of the USA. And, I have purchased many, many records over the years from outside of the USA. I have even moved since I ordered the record and I was luckily able to go to the DHL website and update my address. It appears, based on the tracking summary, it stayed in the same place in the UK until February 5th and that is when it was sent to the USA. DHL in the USA received it on February 5th.

I just recently sold my copy of the first pressing and now out of print Greta Van Fleet From the Fires for $140 and it sold in less than one hour on Mercari. I only paid $15 for it off of Amazon in 2019 back when it came out and I'm not a big fan of them so I thought hey I'll sell it and buy some of the albums I like and want. Now my record has a new home out in CA and I'm looking for what vinyls I want.

Getting a signed LP (or whatever signed object for that matter ) if you haven´t been there and you're not part of the experience is absolutely ridiculous. The hole point of having something signed is the memory of that moment immortalized on the object.
