Keep it stock, keep it up with the maintenance and you got one hell of a truck

one of a kind, you are in for a lot of fun with this truck! There's nothing like driving a manual, especially a reliable one like this Nissan!

I have a 1997 Nissan pick up truck just like yours and I bought it new and I was 20 years old. I am 50 years old now the truck has almost 300,000 and it always runs perfect this truck has been rock solid These little trucks can outlast any other truck in the market. It’s just the way it is you will not find another model that can outlast these little tough trucks standard as well exactly like yours 77,000 miles is nothing keep the maintenance up. Take care of it and you will have a truck forever.

That's crazy, the same truck for 30 years and over a quarter million miles, I guess I am really lucky. I intend to make this truck last as long as possible.

I'm jealous bro. That truck will outlast you, if you take care of it.

Great buy, man. As cheap as it was, don’t sell it even when you need something bigger. Just keep it around forever, loan it to friends, teach people/your kids how to drive stick, use the bed as a trash can, whatever. You may know everything I’m about to say, but I’ve had highs and lows with mine (93, looks just like yours) so I figured I’d share them. 1: Yes, a clean round-dash model is hard to find. I think the vinyl on those was softer than the square-dash models, because the rounds are always torn. I’ve heard 303 marine uv spray is great for keeping them from cracking. 2: Use only legit GL4 fluid in that trans. Anything that says GL5 or 4/5 will chew up the brass in the synchros. Redline MT90 is what most recommend, myself included. 3: That bent drivers fender is an easy and cheap fix, if you even want to fix it. 4: 96 and 97 were a little different than the earlier KA engines, they have some sensors and emissions stuff that weren’t on say, a 93. Nothing major, just something to keep in mind, especially if you delete the EGR or need to buy a new motor or trans. 5: if you ever have an issue with it that you can’t figure out, find a mechanic that knows how to use an oscilloscope. Yours has the benefit of being OBD2, so hopefully you never need that, but mine is OBD1 and it’s very tricky to figure out AFR issues. 6: plan to replace the timing chain at some point. If you can’t hear it rattling on startup, don’t worry about it. If you can, plan to replace it. When you do replace it, put in a Martin Industries ratcheting chain tensioner. You’ll never have to replace a chain or chain guides again if you do that. 7: your ECU is under your front seat, which means you need to take water intrusion seriously. If you notice a window or door seal leaking, fix it before water gets into your ECU. Best of luck, hope to see more on your truck soon.

You stole that truck. Those are excellent trucks. I’ve had 3 of them. Your battery does sound weak though.

Great video young man. You've got a great presence. Excellent editing! You should do a ChrisFix style interior and exterior clean plus some maintenance stuff and bring us along for the ride. I bet it would be fun content. 10k subs by this time next year 👍
