Absolute steal, Ben! Do everything you can to return to factory, especially the hood stripes and pins. It’s what makes the car the car.
@mhmetts3 Жыл бұрын
Exactly! Like if you're going to replace the washer fluid bottle, put the hood pins and stripes back on. Making it all OEM is where the value is

Ben, you are absolutely nailing it! Not only are you expanding your horizons with the parts project, but you just keep on falling on your feet. The Challenger is a brilliant buy. As we say in the UK, a nice little earner. The way the content is changing by giving us lots of variety to watch is great...loving it already. Keep up the good work. Cheers, Bob

KEEP THE HOOD PINS!!! The hood pins, the Plum Crazy purple paint, the pistol grip shifter, it's all a throwback to the 1970 AAR Cuda. Keep it original!

Ben back in 1980 I bought a Plum Crazy 1970 Challenger with pistol grip & console. That was a really cool car. I have to say the modern version with pistol grip is really cool. Like some of the other guys have said I think the real value is returning the car back to original with hood pins & stripes. The old school folks like them like that! Great video and I am looking forward to seeing you get this beast back on the road!

You have to keep it original. Do the stripes and hood pins. That's what makes it a Shaker.

You were like a kid on Christmas morning when you realized it started. The pistol grip is a old school touch my neighbor has a 70 Charger and it has the hood pins and 4 speed transmission.

I'm sure you can find a company that makes a carbon fiber shacker hood that would look killer and since the shacker doesn't look functional I'd look into a Paxton super charger or an ATI pro charger for it and turn it up and you'd have a hellcat killer on a budget .
@RichBartholomew Жыл бұрын
The hood pins help keep the hood down during high speed wind force will rip that tiny hood latch apart lol

I had a bed cover come off an F150 and hit the front of my 2017 Charger Daytona 392 (25,000 miles, redline red tri coat). It caused a little more than $12,000 in damage, and the insurance company fixed it. The body shop had to replace the front bumper, radiator, condenser, both fans, one fog light, and all the front plastics. Thankfully none of the airbags blew. Make sure you use OEM parts on the car, the aftermarket parts are plentiful, but don't fit well at all.

Funny thing you saying that you didn't like the color because of all the dust on it, but you liked it after it was washed. I'd just been thinking the same thing when you said it. I got my license when I was 16 years old. My car of choice was a 1973 Cutlass 442. It was a 350 4 barrel and a factory 4 speed for 1200 dollars. My dad said no way, no how on the 442. He had other ideas for me. So he got me a Chevy Monza. A 4 cylinder and the 4 speed iron duke engine. My father explained to me that a car and a license is to be respected not abused. The Monza lasted me 4 years and 30 MPG for a measly 300 dollars. And no tickets or accidents. But I still miss the 442. Lol

Congratulations on the great Challenger buy. I was lucky enough to have had my drivers license during the "muscle car" era and owned some of the best. You can`t beat American muscle, for looks, sound , and cost. I know that some foreign cars are faster but only the very wealthy can afford them. You can buy a car over here, take it from the showroom and win at the track
