I put a Memphis Shade on my sportster 72. 2 levers and it comes off. When I ride around town I have it off. If I take 100 mile cruise with highways I put it on and it really helps.

Nothing like that feeling when you bring home a new bike, it was all in that ear to ear grin on your face when you mounted up to pull her in the garage! One thing I ponder is, "Will Lowrider ST bags fit on her?" That might make day trips easier if you decide to pound out a few hundred mile trip on the Breakout just to see "what it is". Must be one heck of a torque monster, a 117 stuffed into a Soft Tail frame.

I hope you have better luck than I did....Yesterday I picked up a brand new 2023 Breakout (orange) with just 4 miles on It , rode It home from the dealership about 120 miles parked It In my garage came back 20 minutes later and noticed the bike was covered In oil on the right side and a pool of oil on the floor , I checked up under the motor by the back wheel and saw that they are three holes In a line the oil Is poring out of those holes , i was lucky the oil didn't get to the back tire . anyway long story short the dealership just came to pick It up I just hope Its an easy fix ...GL with your bike mate ride safe .

Great looking bike Robert! I recently purchased a 23 Low Rider S with the 117ci engine in it also. I have a set of TAB Performance pipes on hand for it, waiting to get them installed. I mean yea its a cute little Softail but i can tell you 10 years with a CVO Heritage suspension my back could not stand it anymore so i sold it. Got 9k out of a 30k bike but that's how it goes. I heard they upgraded that Softail suspension but other then putting around town not sure what use you can get out of it. For a working man to many bikes in the garage means to much maintenance and less time for riding.

The breakout is a good bike. It has got the seating space of a touring bike and yet it is lighter. Only issue is here in Australia it is now 40K. Out of reach for many. It was the best selling softail until last year. I think the reason is looks and comfort.

I have a 18 Breakout 114 ci.And the wheel base was a concern at 1st but I play with here almost like KZ-1100 Kawasaki from back in the day and the power of the bike will blow you back w.o the passenger seat behind you I had Harley order & change the pipes and they voided the warranty but I love it and I'm in my 60's !

That bike ticks a lot of boxes: big gas tank, cruise control, outside load adjust, great looks. I'll probably test ride one but not sure whether this style would be a fit for me since I need a more utilitarian bike that I can add windscreen and bags and as you mentioned that would wreck the looks. Also this would not handle as well as my Street Bob.

I've still got the stock seat on my breakout because it's comfortable. It looks the same and has the same name plate as it does on yours. I was also wondering if the plate was going to make it uncomfortable, but you don't feel it at all. Been able to ride long distances 10 years later with the stock seat. Like the saying, if it ain't broke. If you're wearing a full face helmet, I wouldn't worry about a shield either. Happy motoring.

Robert, the bike looks really awesome! HD would appear to have gotten this variant right - certainly in the looks department. I’ve read quite a few KZbin vlogs where HD reliability or lack of has taken front and centre stag along with poor after sales etc and showroom sales service. Mine is black Denim, only parts I ordered were exhaust, grips and led turn signal lights front and rear. Bike is a beautiful machine as it is. Good tip on naming the bike by the wife ahahah. You prefer the floorboard rather than the pegs on this model!!? Regards
