I bought a new Heritage Springer from Chesterfield Harley intending to take my 10 year old son to the European Harley rally in Montegordo, Portugal. Terrible idea! I loved the bike but it was slow, uncomfortable and the brakes were useless. Traded for an almost new Goldwing and went on that instead.
@mid.bike.crisisАй бұрын
I bought a FatBob from them last year, traded it for the Africa Twin in this video. I used to love the Harley branding and lifestyle but after owning 3, and selling them so quickly, I decided they’re not for me. The GW is a much better suited machine for a big tour.

She has the better bike, it's not as top heavy, and much more nimble than the AT. It's light weighing only 459 lbs., and has a great powerful motor. She'll also needs the Veridian Cruse control, a Canadian company, quick shifter, and if the handguards are OEM, I suggest changing them to Barkbuster. The radiator guard is plastic, get a SS guard from Ali Express. Her bike also needs lower guard and a skid plate that is a must for off roading. Be safe!
@mid.bike.crisisАй бұрын
I’ve ridden it, it’s not for me. The AT has much better torque and power delivery.

Congratulations on the new bikes. Im looking to possibly get a cbr650r or cb650r for my first bike, would you recommend them for a first bike?
@mid.bike.crisis5 ай бұрын
Yes, definitely! Especially the CB650R, such a smooth and easy bike to ride. Actually, the CBR650R is just as easy, I’ve had them both. Just depends if you want an easier riding position, if you do then the CB650R is the one. The CBR650R looks much cooler in my opinion though. Let me know what you choose 🙏👊😎

@mid.bike.crisis I'm leaning towards the CBR. I'm just watching your POV video with the fireblade, and I think your wife, is it? Is riding the cbr. I was considering the 600rr but I think that'd get me into trouble lol
@mid.bike.crisis5 ай бұрын
Yes that’s Emma on her CBR. It’s a lovely bike. The 600 is higher revving, we owned one. The CBR is a quick bike but with added comfort

@mid.bike.crisis I like the exhaust on the RR, plus it has adjustable suspension. But for a first bike I'm thinking it's a bit much. Once I get my full licence I'll test ride everything I like and make a decision

What was it that's put you off Harleys ? I can fully understand why you thought the Sportster was too small physically, I've always thought that each time I've seen one, and perhaps the Breakout is a little too compromised for British roads. Did you investigate changing the exhaust set up on the bike you sold in this video? You mentioned that you didn't like the sound it made. In 30 years of riding (i don't have a car or a car license, i just ride bikes) I've always ridden cruisers. Well i once had a XJ600 Diversion too, which is the only non cruiser I've owned, but the others have been Yamaha cruisers so im very used to their plus points and of course their minus points too. This is my first video of yours I've seen, so you might have covered all this in other videos so apologies if I'm going over old ground. Oh and I'm in Kent.
@mid.bike.crisis3 ай бұрын
Hello 👋 The Sportster was tiny, bought just on looks without a test ride. The Breakout looks amazing but too much of a handful for the UK roads. I then bought a Fay Bob…This was the best one out the lot but when it came to winter it was just sat in the garage so it went. I was 50 last year and found myself gravitating back to sports bikes 🫣🫣🫣 An itch I had to scratch! Thanks for the support, please subscribe and watch some of my videos 🙏 Just uploaded a new one tonight. I might go back to Harley one day…..
@kentishmale19693 ай бұрын
I've just turned 55. I've never even ridden a Sports Bike, they just look so uncomfortable and I'd only end up killing myself on one in about 5 mins I expect !! 😉 I'd love one of the new series Gold Wings, probably the one without the armchair on the back, but they're just a bit too expensive second hand at the moment for me. So I've been looking at Harley Davidson Sport Glide, which looks a little more user friendly with the bags and small fairing than some of the H-D range, plus they can be picked up at around £12,000 or so used, which is a lot closer to the amount of money I can spend. So hopefully I can scratch the H-D I've always had, at least until I've either decided I like them, want something smaller and more manageable (I've got bad knees and back issues) or I can finally get a used GoldWing at around the same money. Anyway, keep making good content and people will happily continue to watch it, myself very much included :)

I thought the same about sports bikes but it’s the right hand that controls your destiny 😎 Goldwings are lovely, one day I’ll have one!

Honestly, I am not dissing it (I am thinking about buying it) but this bike sounds sort of gutless. It sounds like an easy rider. Like it’s not a ripper at all. Am I wrong?
@mid.bike.crisis3 ай бұрын
It pulls mate, I’ve had 3 now, the new model has bags of torque, it pulls up easily. The only thing that lets it down IMO is the exhaust note. I’m waiting delivery of a full Akrapovic system, then it’ll be proper 😆

I keep looking at the Africa Twin with the DCT gearbox but then think I would miss the Multistrada V4S. I might take one out for a test ride at some point, why didn't you opt for the DCT did you try both versions?
