I bought a 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage SE for $22k!!! Was it worth it?

I have seen many reviews on this car. The little car is super reliable due to its under power engine that can never damage the CVT transmission. And the engine is super tough and it will last you many years. Good purchase.

The button on the steering wheel (minute 17:20) is for cruise control, it is mostly used on long roads, you activate it by pressing it at the speed you want and the car will remain at that speed until you step on the brake. The interior mirror (minute 19:55), when activated with the button, helps you so that at night the lights of the cars behind do not bother you when driving. The slot you see in the second row, the one you mentioned at minute 11:15, is for placing the seat belt slot when you fold the seats down. At 17:40, it is the front and rear windshield wipers, I think the front one is automatic. On Amazon they sell what is called an Android auto or apple car play wireless adapter, that is to use it wirelessly and not have to connect it by cable. I hope this helps you :)

G'day it's Steven from down under CONGRATULATIONS! That's a cool little car It does everything well just as it's designed to do. It's reliable and fun to drive not to mention very frugal when filling up. In Australia Mitsubishi Motors has been one of the most popular and highest selling marques since 1980. I believe that Mitsubishi means three diamonds in Japanese. Haters are gonna hate, and have no idea.

CVT (aka automatic transmission) is the only weak point (only due to contamination, not a major flaw), change the fluid and both filters (the top one is most important) every 30k miles (48k km) and it will run into the 200k mark no problem. The alternator belt needs to be adjusted every once in a while because its manual, not an automatic adjustment pulley.... especially if running the AC a lot. And it does eat tires more than a regular car, but its not too bad. Just be safe and aware if on the Interstate, you will get use to it but it does not have huge get-up and go power, but it cruises at 80 no problem once you are up there. Drive defensive, in any car! It should last a long time, the engine is very reliable with regular oil changes, and flush the cooling system every 2 or so years... you be good to go for a very long time! *The Air-in take will rattle starting at 40k, a few washers should fix it but its no big deal other then a little noise.

Take off the rear headrests... will give more room for the seats to slide back and forth... also I have noiced that my head gets a cramp after 4 or so hours of driving interstate.. its dangerous to drive with 'driver seat headrest off' because of the plastic sticking up... but you can reverse it (have it facing backwards) and that fixed my issue... the heavy duty laser-cut WeatherTech floormat is fantastic and will last the life of the car, if you are interested. Keeps mud off the carpets very well.

the 3 buttons... (1) traction control, prevents wheels from spinning in snow or hydroplaning incident... pressing/holding will turn it off.... (2) lane departure warning, suppose to beep if it sees the yellow lines on the road not in their regular place... (3) collision avoidance... in some circumstances it will apply the full brake of the car to prevent an auto accident if the radar system sees a stopped object in front of you and you are going fast towards it... it did it to me once, someone jammed on their brakes in front of me and before I could really touch the brake pedal it beeped and then applied the brakes... dont rely on it but its a good backup. press and hold any of the buttons to shut the system off/down ect...

Those slits on the side are for the buckles of the seatbelts to go into when you have the backseats down so they won't block the doors. And your arm rest can go down a little further, it takes a little bit of more force but it will snap in and lock down straight.

These prices are insane! Just a few years ago my mother paid $22,500 for her Taurus and that was for a full-size car with a V6 and AWD.

love the mpg on these things dont floor these you can bust the chain in the cvt that ramps up the rpms.

You won't break the CVT by flooring the Mirage, at least like that. You can overheat the CVT, but not snap the chain. This exact CVT is in the Nissan Sentra, and it has 120 HP, instead of 78 HP. It can handle being floored. The Sentra has more failures because it's heavy, more powerful, it gets the fluid hot a lot easier, and owners don't change it on time. 30,000 Miles maximum between CVT fluid/filter changes. (:

@@extralock1045yeah! My dealership offers free oil changes and basic maintenance for the first two years. Was definitely shocked when they said 7k-10k mile per oil change…. Still in disbelief about that lol

@@SelenaHernandez Yeah, don't do 7,000 or 10,000 miles per oil change. Look at the maintenance manual, it has 2 schedules. Schedule #1 is 3,750 miles oil changes for: City driving, or driving in hot weather above 90F, (and a few other things), which you likely do. The other schedule is for under 90F, nearly all on the highway. That is 7,500 miles.

I would go with Nissan Kicks or Hyundai Venu or kia Forte for $22k. Most people would say bigger does not mean better, but in this price point, there are better choices.
