I Bought a 4€ 128GB SSD From Aliexpress. Is It Good?

I have a 32GB Kingspec SSD made in 2010, it came in a ThinkPad T60 which I bought used in 2013. I still use the SSD in a XP rig and it works fine. It has a JMicron JMF602 controller and 8x Intel 29F32G08FANC1 SLC NAND flash chips

I bought a 512GB Silicon Power A55 SSD for 26 euros from Amazon. But this is even better price per gigabyte with the promotion.

I bought a kingspec nvme 512gb 3 years ago and still working fine, paid U$67 at that time. Got a 1tb nvme from another chinese brand (gudga) a week ago for around u$30, hope it lasts at least as long as the kingspec one.

@Annoye because living and working in 3rd world country means an dicounted samsung nvme costs more than 20% of your montly income, a cheap chinese ssd costs half of that, the absolute value may doesnt seem much if you have a high montlhy income, but for me, the U$20 ish gap worth the risk, as i only use these cheap ssds for game storage and no other important file. If i would use it t store more critical files i would totallly invest in something more reliaable like samsungs or even micron/wd brands.

@@Boz1211111 yup, still working. These chinese drives are good for game storage and non critical files. Ive bought about 15 of them, from diferent brands, 3 nvme m.2, 2 sata m.2, and the others are all sata ssds, only one of the sata m.2 have failed over time (after a year of not much use) 2 of the satas ssds were DOA, and 1 still works but is slow and have lots of bad sectors/errors.

I bought the 4tb variant for my game drive last year it's still at 100 health. It only cost $80 with vouchers. Best value ssd as a game drive.

KingSpec is a good brand. Solid-state & NVMe drives all work well & the correct storage size stated. Their RAM modules work well also. If you're looking for a no risk brand on there then everything's good with KingSpec.

@@lobo6945 probably no more compatible than any other drive. In other words there's no reason why it shouldn't. If it's to replace an main internal drive then the OS & everything had better be installed 1st. Maybe better cloning the drive. If it's for any consoles external drive definitely ok.

i just bought 2 of the Kingspec P4-960's and iam gonna run them in raid0. Got the both of for 61$USD shipped.. The test you did was faster them my current sata3 ssd(patriot burst 980) my read write was489/487 so looks like i might have found a diamond for the $$.. Thanks

No, it's rubbish. I had two drives and after 6 months they were slower as a hdd, 15 mb per sec. They have a bad controler and don't have a good garbage collector. I trow them away.

​@@SerdceDankokingspec is a real Chinese fakeoff from Kingston. It preforms really bad. I don't trust my data to it. I know, I had 2 of this drives. I trow them away because they are faulty after 6 months. So yes, better invest in some good drives.
