I'm thinking about it for a while. But I finally did it. I bought a Behringer Poly D and it sounds insane! Let me know what you think :)

Total novice here. Are the plug ins external? If so, do they run from a computer? I'm a guitar player experimenting and so I don't know much. This sounds so great man! Any advise would be really appreciated

I got in august this year and it’s amazing =) It brings me to search new ways of sound creation and record it just right here and right now! I also have Mininova, Bass Station 2 and TD-3. But Poly D is my favorite! =) And thanks for video! Subscribed ;)

This will be my next purchase after I make room for it! I had the minimoog back in the day, the improvements alone is worth getting this for, especially the midi conformity!

I got mine when they first hit the market 799 us. Now you can get this nice instrument for 599 us. I love mine. Sounds super great with delay pedal.

Great song, proof Hard Rock/Heavy Metal music and synths don't need to be separate, in fact a good chunk of those bands durin' the 70's used synths, (Rush and Rainbow to name a couple) of course all the keyboards on Priest's shit from the 70's was done by guitarist Glenn Tipton. @@Tonepusher

Your creating wonderful sounds. I would have bought one, but I had got a Moog Grandmother before I knew the Poly D existed, since then I have bought the Behringer Odyssey, Behringer MonoPoly and the Behringer System 15 Modular, these are great also.

Ohh I'm looking at that System 35 for a while now!!! Sounds soooo good. It's a matter of time until I press that cart button lol There's a few second hand Grandmother in my area also. How does it sound? Never owned a Moog. I think it's time! haha

Dude, you didn't even do the overdrive trick by sending from phones output back into EXT input. You get stupid beefy sounds from that alone. There are actually some hidden modulation tricks as well with the Poly D that nobody I know has even mentioned let alone noticed. It has a lot of capability and every knob twist seems to hit a sweet spot! I love mine too, in case it isn't obvious.

Thanks for a great demo and amazing sounds but can't live without patch memory save anymore. So would only be for twiddling with if I did buy one. And tbh I can do that on my Behringer Pro-800 and save the patches. Cheers.

That's a nice combo, wavetable and analog :) Yeah that Poly D is very versatile. I have mine for months now and I still love it as much. I don't think I'll ever sell it tbh it's a must have. I COULD buy a Model D, but for that price... I prefer the Poly D hehe

@@Tonepusher yeah I feel ya. The fact that it has the fourth oscillator added with distortion and a chorus. You can go wrong. Seeing it’s a few thousand cheaper. Moog is legendary no doubt about it If there was any Moog I could afford it’ll be the Moog One

I'm using Cubase stock Delay and Valhalla Supermassive which is 100% free :) I try to always use free/stock plugins in my videos so it's easier to reproduce!

Well, if I want to make an arp and record it into Cubase I won't use the Poly D's built in sequencer though . I'll probably use a plugin inside Cubase or write it by hand (old habit hehe). But yeah it's working great! 👌

@@florinchelniciuc831 Yeah it's a greaaat sounding synth. But you could also get the Model D which is way cheaper and sounds the same. I basically went for this one mainly for the looks and the chorus which is great. And also the sequencer is fun to play with and design sounds. But logically speaking the Model D is a great choice.

No you can't save patches or load patches either. And I think that's the beauty of it. Just make a sound on the spot and record it. BUT you can take pictures of the front panel and copy the settings later on :P hehe

Hey! Well, they're kinda right. But I'm more of a sound designer/producer so it doesn't matter to me. It feels better than most of the synth I tried that's for sure. I have a minifreak and ms-20 mini for example and the Poly D has a better keybed. But I feel like it's not for everybody, feels more like a piano touch than a synth. Sorry it wasn't super clear but it's not clear in my head either 😂

It's straight into my computer. I sometimes used Cubase stock delay and also Valhalla Supermassive :) I could definitely make some sound design tutorials with it. I'll add that one to the list!! haha

Yeah I'm in Montréal, I bought it used. But the guy I bought it from got it from Moog Audio. Having this said, unfortunately they're not selling Behringer products anymore... I think the only website you can order it from is www.cosmomusic.ca/ But I'm not sure if they have it in store!

Great sounds here. For me their MonoPoly clone was more interesting; I went with it and a Model D (and a Cat and RD-9). However, I prefer a beatstep pro and keystep pro for arps and sequencing so that also figured in to not caring about Poly D having that onboard.

Nice! That's a very smart setup. I have to say that I love the look of the Poly D and also the sequencer(which is very cool to design sounds) made me buy it instead of the Model D. But to play live your idea with the Polystep is wayyy better. The Cat is very cool too, but I'm waiting for that sexy Poly-800! hehe

@@Tonepusher Though many are I was never a big fan of the PolySix. A neighbor in a band had a shiny new P5rev2 and for some reason let me play it for hours when I was in the 9th grade. I cannot justify a rev4 today as this is just a hobby, but CAN justify a Pro 800 which will have to do.

@@klstay Yeah prices of vintage synths are crazy right now (and probably continue to go up). The sounds of Behringer's synths are (to me) 95% identical and way easier to use in a modern setup. However, they probably won't last 40 years haha But I probably won't either 🤣

@@NTRSN-Archive indeed there is a big difference and I am not certain what synth is being referred to - the imminent Pro 800 or the announced Polyeight. I think it unlikely to be the original Korg Poly 800 as I do not believe anyone has (or likely ever will) announce a clone or re-issue of it.

I hope my feeble attempt at tongue in cheek humor does not offend.. Synth on brother,,, synth on... As for some people's disdain for Behringer and some of their products, I have a few of their synths, and I have no problems with the units, and no fukks given about what others have to say.. Opinions are free for the offering, and free to either accept or reject.

uh... no. LOL. This is a very different beast that isn't replicated with software. Closest you will get is an actual Minimoog!

@@LT3D Well, imo as boring as it sounds the answer is yes and no haha No software can sound and feel like analog gear, it has so much "imperfections" that make it sound so unique. Having this said, with some fine tuning, it can sound reaaaally close yes.

Easily with software. First is U-he Diva, sounds amazing and blind tests have fooled most people. There's also Synapse & Arturia do Moog plugins. I love my vintage hardware, can't beat it for hands on. But the plugins are 99.9% there and even better in some departments than hardware.

@@Tonepusher in the 1st and 3rd sounds, i think it might be because of the sequencer doing the arpeggio movements, it sounds as though its making the attack transients of the envelope sound like a percussive click, do you hear it too or am i bugging ?
