Do you know the $25,000 you just spent on a car would be worth about $550,000 when you turn 65 if you just put that money in the bank for the next 5 years of car payments- instead of giving it to Toyota? I'm sure you can pull off the monthly payment you just signed up for but, there is nothing about your life that would lead any observer to tell you that this was a good decision. Hopefully you take the very valuable lesson that as an adult-- just cause your parents approve of an idea- does not mean it's a good idea. I understand you didn't want to go alone- but you brought cheerleaders with you- not advisors. They made you feel comfortable and confident about a bad decision- they did not help you make a good one. Just cause you (or the dealer, or the loan officer) say the words 'it's such a good deal' does not in any way make it true. You're other option was finding a used car for less than $10,000 that had all the features and safety you needed. The story your videos told was that you couldn't afford to repair your car for $1000, so your solution was buying a brand new car for $25k+. Eek.
