I have the same one. I’ve sold most of my Chanel bags but kept one reissue 226 and two wocs. The WOC is so understated, convenient and elegant. Unlike most people I prefer it to the rectangular mini which I used to own but sold for a hefty profit. I love that the chain is so thin like jewelry and that I don’t have to worry about it being smushed like I did with the mini rectangular. I love carrying it when I don’t feel like wearing a bag. Enjoy it! It’s only boring on social media…IRL it’s timeless and elegant.

I had one when they were like $2150 US. Never took it out of the box and sold it. Picked up a boy/chevron style WOC in black with GHW from a Japanese auction for $1200 and I use it all the time. It’s a great piece! I just needed to find it at a price I was comfortable with since I wasn’t sure how much I would use it. Now that I know, I’d definitely do another one.

I absolutely love the woc! It’s literally my favorite/most worn bag since it’s understated and compact. So much so that I have 1 black and 1 beige 😂. Also if anyone is thinking about getting one I highly recommend the magnetic closure. I had issues with the button and sold it for the magnetic one and it never busts open now which is nice 😊💜

These are super popular and very hard to get. Congratulations! You also got the updated zipper which should cause less of an indent on the leather. The older versions had a more chunkier zipper which always left a mark on the leather

I was also lucky to snag a Chanel caviar WOC with silver hardware last year in July before the price increased to $4700. I put my name down on the waiting list with one of SA’s in the Sydney boutique and two weeks later she texted me saying they received a WOC in stock. I bolted so fast to pick it up that day!!! It’s so hard to buy anything from the Boutique these days….every time I go to store they never have what I want. That, combined with the insane price increases, unfortunately has made me give up on buying from the boutique….easier to buy preloved Chanel now 😕

Congrats on finding it. The Chanel woc is a great little bag. It’s a classic style and if that’s basic then ok. But calling anything Chanel basic is actually a bit comical. I have a vintage black lamb skin one with 24k GHW which is great and I recently got a blue one in the crush style with the adjustable chain and an actual closure. It’s about $500 more than the regular but worth it I think. I got it in Hawaii and they had a bunch of Wocs at one of the two Chanel stores. Last time I was in London a few years ago they had drawers full of wocs at the Chanel dept in Harrods where I got my reissue flap. I think it depends on the store and how many they get. I’m more of a classic bag with some fun thrown in gal.

Congrats! As long as you love it, that is all that matters. I've been eyeing the Chanel WOC and tried it on a few times and love it. I could never bring myself to pick one up as there were other bags I wanted to get and put the money towards but I have been debating between this and the Lady Dior pouch to purchase one day. I love a mix of classics with some trendy pieces. This year I may pick up one or two small items from Chanel like a mini o case or flat card holder if I find a colour that calls to me or a choker or hair clip (costume jewellery) but no set plans on a particular purchase from Chanel. I bought the light blue lambskin WOC and it’s my little ray of sunshine. I had no intention of buying another WOC as Im saving up to buy the classic small flap in black, wanting to feel like Ive graduated to a bag, rather than a ‘wallet’. Ive just been to Paris and found the most beautiful black 2.55 WOC in aged calf leather and it’s really made me reconsider my whole attitude with it..If it looks, feels and acts like a bag, it’s a bag!! It’s spectacular regardless of what it is called. So much nicer than the rectangular mini. As it’s black I’m wearing it so much more than the blue and I know I’ll wear it for years to come.

I just got one from my SA in New York (i am in Tennessee) it is the black caviar with gold like yours but mine had the interior with the racing print from a recent collection (cant keep up). At the time they had beige, pale yellow, and black. I buy alot of ready to wear so she is super nice to me. I am lucky to have her. I want one in the electric royal blue. But it’s impossible. I bought my classic flap past summer in Paris and had the exact same situation: looking for the bag, another SA comes waiting and says someone else is interested, … I knew I wanted the bag, but it feels as if it’s a new strategy to push people into buying… on the other hand, a lot of people still want these classic bags.

I have the same WOC. I saw it in my local Chanel and got it, I think in 2017. I have moved to classics. A classic wardrobe lets you buy nicer pieces because you will have them longer. I want to look casually elegant, with iconic pieces. To me, there is nothing more classic than a Chanel flap and the chains supply the bling.

I think it's a great bag and it only matters if you love it and have have use for it. I gifted myself a woc for my 30th a few years back (only chanel piece I'll probably ever own, lol). I'd saved up for a few years and put myself on a waitlist like 4 months before my bday, but was called a month in. I have a black caviar with gold hardware in the older version. I kinda wish I had the magnetic button, but i dont think i'd ever want to sell to get the new version. I don't carry much day to day, so this works for a lot of occasions for me. It also still looks new to me. I purchased a base shaper and that was a game changer. I also bought these clips from Amazon so I can change the length of the strap without having to wrap it around the bag.

@Caitlin Pawlowski yes! At first I was concerned on damage to the strap but I've been using them for about an year and it so far so good. I went for it because I knew I'd get more use of the bag this way. I looked up "adjustable buckle for chain strap". It's like a bar with a loop on each side of the bar. The loops move and you hook each side to one side of the straps.

I love my WOC’s and I don’t find them boring at all! They seem hard to come by in the boutiques, but I have an SA in Portland, OR and Las Vegas, Nevada so one of them can usually alert me to anything I have been looking for. Definitely have to ask for them….I never see them displayed. Side note: I recently sold one of my older lambskin WOC’s with the snap closure because it would pop open all the time. (New ones are magnetic closure and so much better) I got more than what I paid for it originally. WOC’s are still hot on the resale market because of scarcity…….not that you will want to sell that beauty.

I have a SA in my store but I guess nowadays she is more bz that she is not as in the ball as she used to be. I had a similar experience on my last visit. I was trying on with a mini square, another SA came to her and was asking for the bag that I am trying on. I knew if I were to let go, the bag will be gone. So I say yes to the bag (not sure if I really want it or under pressure). So far no regrets and I have been carrying her more then I would imagine 😊

I went to Paris last December and it was so hard to even get into a Chanel store. I wanted the woc in silver hardware with lambskin and I got really lucky because the manager decided to let me in. They told me it was the only one in store, the service was really good and I had a great experience

When I decided to get the WOC, I went into the store in Düsseldorf (Germany) and just bought one. I had never been there before and the SA told me they just got that one in. Later I found out they are hard to get😅 In April 2018 the price was 1865 €.

Such a nice purchase! Here in Germany, it's pretty easy to get the WOC. Very often they don't have them on display though, ut you just have to ask and very often they have a pretty big assortment of them in the back of their store that they'll just get for you. So If you ever travel to Germany and want to buy another WOC...you know how to get them ;)

Congrats on your new WOC, truly a classic! For me, granted i have a smaller collection than yours, Chanel prices for a WOC is not worth it.. I’d rather grab a YSL, which is also classic looking, and a fraction of the price! Something to think about if your looking to ad a WOC in a colour your not sure about 😉

Yeah but the ysl wocs are not as versatile. They look funny when worn casually while the Chanel woc looks good whether dressed up or not. Also the YSL one has that huge logo that shouts “designer” look at me and Chanel one is more quietly sophisticated. Just my opinion.

Great purchase! I got one over 10 years ago for $2000 and it still looks brand new. You can also get a little insert for it off eBay which sits at the bottom to hold its shape.

The base shaper is a game changer it expands the woc and you can fit more in it. If you put a regular insert it will take up too much space.

I have the black empreinte version and it’s one of my most used bags. It’s a classic staple in my opinion. However, I never wear both bags and straps together because it’s a little much. I wear them separate, which adds to the versatility.
