Hey, as long as you're happy with it that's all that matters. My 3rd vette was a 98. My fourth (and current vette) is a 2004, so, obviously, I liked the C5 body style. Not too crazy about the frog lights, but they grow on me. I guess the one thing I liked about the C5 was the retractable lights. The one thing I didn't like about my 98 was the dual instances of the dreaded steering column lock. Two times I needed a flatbed. But because I liked the model so much I figured with a 2004 they'd have worked the bugs, and that was addressed without having to install an aftermarket ignition bypass. I purchased my 04 for 25K with 25k miles. I don't see myself parting with it anytime soon it's just so much fun to drive. No worries about the audio levels, just enjoy the ride. Can't say anything but nice things about them.Recovering C5 seats is a walk in the part for an average person with average skills and tools and can easily be done in an afternoon. I repaired the biscuits as needed with Gorilla Tape and put a piece of carpet over the wires in the seat bottom to remedy the wires cutting into the biscuit.Seriously-where can you get a "toy" for $3,500? amazing deals can be had on used cars now and many vehicles are very high quality. I sold my last vehicle - a 1999 Acura TL with 285,000 miles and everything worked just fine. Now this Vette is a REALLY used car...but still, even a normally used vehicle. A person can get a great vehicle for $25000 or less easily now. Assuming you can deal with some wear and tear

The only thing I noticed from the video was the crack in the front bumper until you showed the interior. Honestly for $3500 that's a steal. I'm down in Orem and if I would have seen that C5 for sale I would have bought at $4000 if I got to it before you did. I love C5's. Looks like you're up near Park City area. There's a couple of interior shops down here in the Utah Valley that would be able to fix the seats and door panel if you pull them and drop them off over the winter. A little bumper epoxy and some more white touch up would fix that bumper. Nice find.

@@HUMMUHSMIFF For sure man, that poor ls7 was daily driven + track driven almost DAILY for 3 years. The owner took great care of it though was always on time with oil changes and because of that engine had minimal wear on the cylinder walls, now the piston rings were a different story because they were almost nonexistent, but that rebuild kit had everything in it that could be swapped out, and I did that by watching youtube videos on how to rebuild LS and such. I'd say you got a damn good deal bro. The exhaust, wheels (which aren't stock for that vette), and headlights, would cost around $2k-$2.6k alone. You can fix that crack in the bumper for less than $20. Just go buy some Liquid nails plastic bond, and some fiberglass mat. Use a Dremel to make a small groove on the front, then line it up, tape it on the back to hold in place, then use the plastic bond to fill in the crack, then place small strips of the fiberglass mat over it, wait for it to dry, then take the tape off the back and put some plastic bond over the crack with the mat over it. After that sand the front down till its smooth and blends with the rest of the bumper. I did this to my Z06 but it was a 5" crack straight down from the edge of the turn signal light. Can't even tell there was ever a crack there and its stronger than it was. Oh... and don't forget leg day! lol

@@HUMMUHSMIFF It's always a gamble when you're buying anything on ebay for that kind of money, especially a Corvette. One of the challenges with C5's and many other sports cars for that matter, is the overall mechanical design to cram a lot of stuff into a tight space. This can create A LOT of labor charges for simpler repairs like replacing the fuel pump on a C5. The rule of thumb is therefore always to buy a C5 at a good price related to mileage etc.
@panzerwaffen28736 жыл бұрын
Smart or stupid??? Stupid is to have the money and don't buy it unless you don't like Corvettes... Now I'm not saying it to you but why are people so worry about miles on an LS1 ?? If you take care of the car it will take care of you
