I've had my Focus 1.6TDCi for an unprecedented 10 years. Never kept a car so long put 82k miles on it. It's honestly one of the best cars I've ever owned. Apart from the usual running costs, all it has needed was N/s drive shaft. Had the cambelt etc changed at 75k. Serviced on the dot and run it only on premium diesel. Had it on test a few months ago with the service manager and his electronic scanner. He proudly said "Roger there is nothing wrong with this car. .something I can seldom say" While picking it up from.service one of the salesman approached me and said "make sure you keep this one..." that from a salesman! So at the moment that's exactly what I'll do. Thought I'd chuck in a note of positivity as there's much grumbling about Ford and especially the EcoBoom🙈🙊🙉. Thanks for another entertaining vid Matt.

Must of just had a dodgy one. I’ve only had great experiences with Ford cars and the company itself. The 1.0s are a bit problematic, if you were to go for a diesel, especially the 2.0 you’d have a lot less trouble as they are very good. I know someone with a galaxy with over 500,000 miles on it and had hardly any issues at all. Not to mention I know many people with the diesels including myself with high and low mileage that never put a foot wrong. Even high mileage ones I know that are driven hard and do trailer towing still do not have issues. Maybe worth another try one day!

Got two Mk3 focuses (2012 1.6 Ti-VCT and 2013 2.0 TDCi) and the door strips are shagged. Bought some replacements from eBay because Ford want silly money and I've tried re-sticking them but once they've been on and come off, they just don't hold any more even with decent tape, but can't find the enthusiasm to fit them, really need to though. The boggo headlights are also a weak point - wife's car had already had one replaced and I had to replace the other as they leak and someone had already tried gumming it up with silicone. Those Ford badges on the boot always go manky too. Lucky the parcel shelf is there, they are so flimsy they collapse and the plastic clips for the hinges bust off. Replacements are cheap, but the shelf is usually too mashed by that point to fit them reliably, and replacement shelves are hard to come by for obvious reasons. Not bad cars, if unexciting, other than that though

Still have a radio that works and usually I’ve got my iPhone through the Bluetooth so I’m not going to worry about that. You got a good bargain there once you hit the cosmetic stuff sorted previous owner/s clearly didn’t scrimp on the servicing, so important whatever the model. I expect the new owner will have that a good few years the mileage is good for the year that diesel should keep on chugging if correct servicing is maintained. Result👍

Look at the bright side of the fresh MOT. It was done by someone you trust, so you can confidently tell a prospective buyer it's in good shape. If I did a history check and saw the fail for things like the headlight and sway bar followed by a pass without even advisories, I'd be skeptical they got fixed in under a day... I would have thought they found one of the leave-a-bottle-in-the-back-seat-guaranteed-to-pass places (unless the shops flag it when it fails like in Germany with the military so you have to go back to the same place to get a reinspection.. no shopping around due a second opinion). Anyway, great car for someone... I paid over $10k more for mine two years ago, but then again it's an ST.

The rear Ford badge and the arm rest looks a bit shabby,did you mention mat's? Just trying to keep you right bud.

Funny enough, I'm in Armley and just took my 09 Fiesta in for a new set of boots at Tires 4 Less a couple of weeks back when they mentioned the Mazinis (as I had picked tyres with the wrong size sidewall like a numpty), and after watching your vids for the last 4 years, I had also never heard of it. I feel a bit less foolish that at least you hadn't heard of it either now 😅

Nice one Matt. Another car saved and will do someone good service for a few more years. Not a Focus fan but you did a great job on that one. Should fly off the forecourt.

Autotrader can.. go away 😂 To be honest, this car is decent and as someone who knows nothing about cars, I think it's worth more? 🤔 You didn't have enough strepsils and hugs if you still sound like this. New bin! This will attract more viewers surely. You're hilarious at times. I am glad I found this channel last year. You're one of my favourite youtubers 🏅

It's around 13 years old with 120k odd miles on it it's only a zetec. And a small engine with a manual box. And it's just a hatchback. How many years has it realistically goy left. Things are getting old and t whole car is wearing out. Get 3 or 4 years out of it should be fine. Cars Don't last forever.

Hi Matt, First of all love the Focus, love the newer European versions more, looks very Nice and wish it was imported here, anyway weather wise, can't say that the UK weather is the most wackiest I've ever experienced, you should try Melbourne Australia, weather changes in minutes, could be cold and miserable one minute, then the weather changes and it's the opposite, you may even have an entire season in a day. Learning a lot about the brand of tyres on your channel also some of which I've never heard in my life. Anyway get well soon, see you in the next one.

GT Radial is actually a decent tire brand, the FE2 model (which that Focus has) has shown decently good performance in tire tests.

I always liked the shape of that focus, especially in touring car guise, look as wide as the are long.

I saw a 23 plate focus with the rubber seals hanging out the doors the other day 🤣
@yukondave83896 ай бұрын
Yup, every mk3 Focus has that with the door seals, mine has it, my dads also had it lol. Fixable with VHB tape.

Focus is a great car. I had a MK1 1.8TdCi and loved it. Passed it on to my son and it's done well over 200K to date.
