@ollycollie5 ай бұрын
@@johmsmith9496 To be fair to CarVertical, they can only find what has been reported. Neither of the ends was severely damaged, so it may well have never been reported or subjected to a claim against insurance. Somebody backs a bit too far into their garage and clouts the rear wall, or clumps into a railing at the station car park, or bangs into the flower pots outside the pub, they may pick up a replacement bumper from a scrapyard and ignore any damage beneath, because it can't be seen with the new bumper in situ. They then flog the car before its next MOT is due. How could any checking service possibly identify these issues?
@alancoomes27975 ай бұрын
hi, We bought our daughter a 53 plate Clio 1.2 16v in black, slightly higher spec it has the sun roof ! and a/c . The ABS issue is probably one of the relluctor rings on the drive shaft, (available separately from the drive shaft), the scraping sound is more than likely one of the brake pads anti rattle mounting bits touching the disc, you get new ones with a set of pads . The boot floor damage with no cracks or split metal & corrosion and therefore is not an MOT fail. The oil issue - clean it up & check the rocker gasket they can split & leak down the side of the engine / gearbox, or cold be also just careless filling of oil. Rear exhaust mount is normally just the rubber bungee thing. Daughter still has her Clio, bought at 48K now on 125K after 13 years its taken her through Uni and beyond. Her sun roof doesn't leak and the a/c has only needed re gassing once. Rear bearings are cheap and an easy DIY job. Still no corrosion and just had a no advisory MOT a month ago. Cracking car.

Because he's got us lemons clicking on his videos..... That's like saying why does Clarkson go again next year (on Clarkson's farm), with a huge chance of making a loss or only just breaking even... oh. Come on, think about it. £££ TV revenue

The point is he's making vids to show us what to look out for and although he's making money we would'nt be, so, to go buy plates/trims before you had it serviced/MOT'd is not good advice.

As soon as you said you were pleased about it not having a sunroof, it brought back memories. Mine leaked like a sieve

My first car, 1.2 16v dynamic in red 51 plate. Brand new because of the free insurance for 2y.

I love how your videos all contain subtle Partridge references. I picked up on at least 2, and am sat here wondering whether "what a waste" is an intentional Parole Officer ref.

Wow, what an incredible buy! 🥳 Buying a Renault Clio for just £500 sounds like a hidden gem! I can only imagine the thrill of finding such a deal. It’s amazing how sometimes you can stumble upon a car that still has a lot of life left in it for a fraction of the cost of a brand-new vehicle. I’m intrigued about the condition you found it in. Did it require a lot of repairs right off the bat, or was it mostly ready to roll? I think it's cool that you’re embracing a budget-friendly option. Not only is it great for your wallet, but it also shows how environmentally conscious you are by keeping an older car on the road instead of buying something new. I also love hearing about how you’re going to customize it or maybe even give it a little TLC to make it your own! Any plans for upgrades or changes? Personally, I think it would be awesome to see a series where you document the journey of the Clio-like a mini project car saga. It takes a special kind of person to appreciate the quirky charm that comes with older cars, and I can’t wait to see what adventures you take it on! Here’s to many fun drives, spontaneous road trips, and unforgettable memories with your new ride! 🚗💨 Keep us posted on how it goes and any interesting stories that come up along the way!

Youre quite the perfectionist...and you're entitled to be that way... yet most of the rest of the world..."is not"...yet by your own words...you'd rather scrap a good running car or definitely considering it...according to the delivery man it drove fine... but there are people out there who pay you all that have invested in the car...including MOT inspection...no guaantees of course... to have a very economical good running car... I won't pretend i know your motivations...but there are other very worthwhile options...out there to consider... that could make you look like more than..."just" a businessman...
