A pity that returning the wheels to the diamond cut is too expensive, but definitely understandable on a cheap car. But solid silver would be the best 2nd choice, matches the bits around the headlights and the few other silver touches.

I’m a motor dealer with over 25 cars in stock. I have few cars that have been sat for more than 3 months but I usually sell 7-10 cars a month. So I don’t really think about the 3 months car cause my other cars cover my bills on my forecourt and overheads. Sometimes I list them less and make a loss but it’s okay cause the other 7-10 cars covers the lost AND covers my expenses. You gotta understand in motor dealing industry, not all cars will make you money so if you have enough stock to cover your expenses you’re allowed to make few loses on couple of cars. In saying that, I don’t really look at how long I had cars in my forecourt. It’s my bills are paid and staff got their wage it’s all happy days.

I see the argument for essentially storage costs, but I don't think it is cut and dried when a car needs a small bit of work and it is the business's decision not to get it fixed and ready for sale for 90+days. Maybe that £20 per day clock should only start ticking once it is prepared and up for sale? And maybe not at all if you aren't full and it isn't preventing you stocking other cars.

I think the Wind is a great little car. The problem they have is that people forget they exist. I bought an SLK four years ago and didn't consider a Wind because I hadn't seen one for a while.

That's an interesting little car. I do like left field choices rather than humdrum cars. I have a little 2010 Honda CR-Z coupe which is pretty rare, as there were only 4,300 units sold in the UK between 2010-2016. As a result, prices tend to be higher than average, so not really a car you would be interested in.

always thought the Wind was one of the best looking in its class, roof up or down. the gamble was worth it, nothing expensive or unusual in the repairs list. regarding finance, I'd say its expensive unless you are turning your stock very quickly. the longer it sits the more it costs and that's what the finance company want.

The only downside (to the customer ) with a car being on a stocking loan is that it shows up as having outstanding finance when doing a Car Vertical check. Nothing that can't be proved by the dealer showing the paperwork, but may be enough to put a customer off, if they don't check with the dealer.

I guess sometimes it's worth having stock that may take a while to sell but attracts punters to the forecourt who might end up buying something else from you. The Wind must be a Summer car hence seasonal demand. Parts are surprisingly cheap.

The problem with that sort of thinking is that you also need a certain amount of volume for your business, so if you tried to cut down on this type of car, you would have a higher overhead per car on your more profitable cars.

Also worth checking if oil has been put into the cooling system on purpose by a scam buyer trying to get it cheap. Its a common nasty trick and happened to my neighbour.

Often wondered, what cost do dealers pay for 3 month warranty. My friend bought car, but garage said we know the engine mount needs doing, we have it on the shelf. Claim warranty and we get paid to fix it.....

Joe the 1.2 TCe is definitely not a reliable engine at all. One of the worst ones they made unfortunately. However I do like these, they’re genuinely quite unique looking and rare.

The interior mirror mount is not quite clipped into place… can see gap with daylight coming through. That totally destroyed this episode for me and has triggered my ADHD and OCD. I’ve got no idea what you chatted about I’m so distracted. I have an urge to walk the streets looking for the same car to check and see if they’re all the same. I’ll let you know how I get on in the next video. 🫣 🤣
