be extra careful when roaming around the Philippines..just other countries, ours is not as safe too especially for foreigners. Although we Filipinos are kind and friendly, there are few exceptions. Just to give you a tip on how to communicate with the locals when buying or asking something, even if they say they can't speak or understand English, they can understand simple words, so you can just ask what you want to know in simple phrases rather than full sentences. For ex. instead of saying "I want to buy a chicken. How much are you selling it?" You can just directly ask "Chicken, how much?" haha and say your words more slowly so they catch up to what you're saying. Anyways, this content is really interesting buying local stuffs for eo while touring the market haha

Did you notice when you were India and Pakistan, there were NO women in the open markets? Just men. In the Philippines, the women are treated equally and there are no raised eyebrows because it is very common and a tradition.

Those were different kind of markets - he roamed around Old Delhi and such - places which most Indians themselves won't go, let alone with their families. There are way too many of such markets too where women run the stalls. Infact, almost all of tribal Northeast is matriarchal - many places where the groom actually lives with the girls family! 😅

Visit San Agustin Church, Fort Santiago and Manila Cathedral for more exciting tour. Also, nearby historical landmarks are the National Library, Manila Hotel, and the National Museum. At the Luneta Park behind it is the Ocean Park for some other side trip and the famous Seascape Market near Sofitel Hotel for a more glamorous Bay Sunset viewing while eating fresh seafood in the market.
