I just bought a push dagger for some reason, wanted to give my thoughts

Quick update- I used a very thin coat of WD40 on the blade and it does in fact come out way easier lol. Just a PSA

did you put the WD40 on the whole blade or just on a specific part?

@@domi2023x I coated the whole blade with the wd40 gel, then inserted it in and out a few times then wiped off the blade. Worked like a charm

Not sure if the retention design of the push dagger is the same but, on my Cold Steel knife with a similar sheath design I would hold the knife and press the sheath off with my thumb and it would pop out much easier and smoother than just pulling the knife out.

@@yishaihalpinnot like a push dagger though. They are not knives they are weapons. They are not for cutting much. But for thrusting they are very formidable.

I think it a good knife for self defense & Cold Steel, is believed to make the very best Push Dagger knives and they use good materials.😊

The biggest advantage of the push knife is the aerodynamic grip, hold and piercing power you have *naturally* in relation to your arm, wrist and fist… A must have where legal.

Which one is better to you: the drop forge push knife or the Safe Maker 1? They are two very similar knives. I think this one is slightly longer right?

I wasn’t really aware of the drop forged one until your comment- looks like a great knife and appears to be a ton sharper out of the box

@@tetonnate1993the cold steel drop forged push knife is far sharper, and it can be used for utilitarian purposes as well. That's just my opinion cuz I own the both of them

After some wd 40 on the blade it completely changed. Great retention now, but a HELL of a lot easier to draw now. At this point I have no complaints. Thanks for watching!

Bend the table out with your fingers and that will be the end of your retention problem

Can it be hooked to a belt horizontally?

I tried to do just that with a tek lok, but the swell in the middle of the sheath prohibits it from working. I could probably try 3/4 inch screws or something , that may work. I may make my own kydex sheath and configure it that way

No doubt- knife laws seem to be pretty strict there according to what I’ve read. Do you carry anything for self defense?
