The CT2 is a great boot knife. I have worn it for hours on my 6-inch leather boot. Comfortable and light. The clip is sturdy and very secure on my boot. I highly recommend trying it. Cheers

Every year our gang of dirt bike riders takes off to Colorado for riding in the Taylor Park and Crested Butte area. My concern was for mountain lions when stopped in wooded areas for tire or mechanical repairs. I had a Gerber Guardian sheath sewn into the upper shoulder strap of my backpack. Although, the knife was locked in another sheath within the fanny pack tool kit. You wouldn't want it falling loose for a self-stick during an at-speed dirt bike get-off... These are nice little at-the-ready knives for all kinds of hairy situation mitigation needs.

I carried two CRKT M16 knives for mostly this reason while living in SE Asia. Although legal, people and police took a bad view of carrying a +12cm fixed blade. So I carried a SF M16 version on my left and a non-serrated M16 in the front right pocket which was also my everyday use knife and clearly visible to anybody looking at me from the front (deterrence). Being flippers deployment was fairly easy from either body side should one arm be bound up with a dog or bad guy.

Thanks for another great review- I’ve had the counter tac one for awhile- I just slip it in my vest pocket where I can have my hand on it while just sitting on the porch, going down to get the mail or walking where dogs are. It’s a knife that gives you that non verbal gut feeling of being really well armed. Some knives give that, some don’t- regardless of size or price.

Bro!!! You have read my mind! My wife complains about all of my Cold Steel knives, but she owns SEVERAL pocketbooks! Since I brought up the argument of knives VS pocketbooks, she has realized everybody has their thing of what they collect in their pursuit of happiness. It is to the point that we don't talk much about it anymore. As a Cold Steel fan, the Counter Tac knives are nice, but I am a Tanto point fan first and foremost. Plus, double edged knives are illegal in my state of North Carolina. I do own several Cold Steel spear and drop point knives (Voyager Large Drop Point, Voyager XL Drop Point, Counter Point XL, Counter Point One, 4max Scout). In fact, I am messaging you with my Voyager XL Drop Point beside me right now. I do like your style of video: always outdoors and nothing too flashy. Nice video as always!

Yeah, those Blades are Perfect for Personal Protection. Cold Steel has been one of my Favorite Brands for Decades. There are 3 CS Blades on my table opposite me right now. My First Tanto was CS. When that company first started out, I remember their Advertisements were in Gun Magazines and it showed some men sitting down playing cards and one guy puts a Tanto through the man's hand and cards as if he caught the man cheating. After seeing that Tanto, I just had to have one. You don't see Advertisements like that anymore.

I got a cold steel knife like that in the late 90s. Still have it. As you know it’s not a practical knife. I lash it to my backpack shoulder strap upside down so I can pull it very quickly. Of course I never have had to use it for anything. Double edge knives are brutal but you wouldn’t want to be in a situation to use it.

Which do you prefer the Tac 2 or the Mini Leatherneck Double Edge? They are almost the same size. The Counter Tac 2 has a flat side. The main difference seems to be Japanese steel vs Chinese steel. My understanding the actual steel is very similar.

I actually carry my knives knowing that I have more chances of using it against a dog than against a human. I'd comply in a robbery situation and I don't have any enemies that would try to kill me. So, I have statistically more chances of being killed by a dog than by a human. That's why choosing a knife is so hard for me: I can't decide if 10cm blades are lethal enough against both dogs and humans. Brazil laws regarding knife carry are confuse, undefinitive and contradictory. Therefore, we're subject to judge's mood. Depending on our "luck", we can carry 9cm blades and get busted or carry a damn bowie freely.

Man I love this knife but to be completely honest I'm not a huge fan of the knife being flat on one side, not flat per say but for a lack of a better way of describing it, but I would rather it be shaped the same on both sides . Is the leatherneck like this also? Or does it have the same shape on both sides, I might go with the leatherneck if it's shaped the same on both sides.
