a cool tip with the silverados is you don't need to hold the key when starting it up, just one quick twist all the way, let go and it'll start up. Also you can check the tire pressures using the 4 vertical buttons to the left of the cluster. my uncle use to have an 07 5.3, so this brings a lot of those memories back!

So hear me out, the 6l80's are notorious for the torque converters going out around this mileage without proper fluid change intervals. And that vibrating your hearing is more then likely from the exhaust drone dampening flap right after the muffler. They go bad and stick in weird positions and cause vibrating noises that are surprisingly loud. Its when your in 6th gear overdrive and the 4 cylinder mode kicks in.
@chevyman295264 жыл бұрын
My 2014 sierra denali 6.2 is doing this now. Really freaked me out! But my truck has true duals from the cats back. Flowmaster mufflers. Is the flap before the cats? Mine makes the same noise in overdrive and v4 mode.
@justintdavis20104 жыл бұрын
@@chevyman29526 buy a obd2 "range" plug in from summit and it will stop the truck from going into 4cyl mode. If not you'll more than likely be replacing #1 and #7 plugs in the near future from falling issues
@Go694 жыл бұрын
It has NOTHING at all to do with "proper fluid changes". You can change that fluid every month, and the converter is STILL going to fail. Have you ever seen a 6L80E converter cut open? Call Circle D in Houston and let them tell you what's inside. Ain't no fluid on Gods Green Earth that will prevent those converters from coming unglued. If you own a 6 speed vehicle, just pull the trans NOW and put in an after-market BILLET torque converter.. Then the trans will last 300,000+ miles without issue.. Also, if yours is a '14 or newer, do the thermostat bypass on the trans cooling line block. It's EASY, and will add years of life to the trans.

Can't remember what is called (module maybe) but I thought it was strange to be located there. The front door is repairable for a lot less than getting another one. I fixed a deer hit that hit on the door more than the fender and it set the side roof air bags off (which destroys the headliner also) along with the one on the side of the seat. Very pricey to fix. I borrowed a 2013 from the in laws for about 2 months because they wanted to put miles on it before taking a trip to Florida. I put 1,300 miles on it and within the first 400 the front diff broke, within 500 they had to yank the dash out and put cushions in that weren't installed AND found a melted blower motor harness. Within 1,000 miles the transmission lever seized and then at 1,200 miles the driver side door handle broke. Then at 4,000 the passenger side broke. Now the truck has 89,000 miles and the engine had to be rebuilt because the oil pressure failed and sent incorrect readings to the dash and never threw a code...then the oil pump failed and grenaded the engine. Then ALL the door handles broke...the truck has a random issue where the window on the passenger side front will roll down itself and stay down. The rear axle had to be rebuilt and...last but not least. The brake controller failed and locked the brakes up on a utility trailer at 30mph.

My dad has a 2009, hopefully I get it, but it has the 5.3 with a 4 speed, with less than 90k on it, they are good trucks. If they are kept care of.
