And the "bumper to bumper" warranty is well over 6k vs 2800 I paid for drivetrain warranty. Ik electronic is the main issue with German cars so I don't plan on keeping this car max 2 years. Fingers crossed all goes well

i bought a 2013 s550 with 38,000 mioles fleet owned and maintained directly from mercedes for $35K back in 2018. came with 2 years of CPO warranty and mercedes took the brunt of repairs. i recently had it totaled out, in 2022 valued at $27,500. biggest repair out of pocket post warranty was $1400. safe to say i got lucky both in terms of maintenance costs and depreciation. but i did my research and took my time finding the right one. the car was dream to own over the 4 years i had it. in the end it had 91k miles before the accident. will def be getting another used s550 in the future. my advice, take your time, understand what you're getting into, buy from mercedes and get that warranty. in the beginning they probably did at least $15k-20k in repairs under warranty. i also got lucky that the used car market in 2022 is insanely different than when this video was posted. but it was worth every penny.

Having some experience with a S63 and a 600 Maybach. The Maybach is quite a bit nicer. Its longer, nicer materials and super quiet. But I have to agree that this is a better rental car. And btw who is going to complain about a s class.

In the UK the best selling German cars over the last 10 years have been , 1st ,,Audi 2nd BMW 3rd mercedes . Since 2015 mercedes has gone to No1 ,the C class saloons are a fantastic buy. BMW are just a company car ,the dash looks dated ,(except the i8 )

I dont like how Mercedes and BMW name their vehicles. I get the name pretty much categorizes the vehicle to other Mercedes but it names it dumb to remember so that all people could say when they see for example an s560 is oh look, a Mercedes. As opposed to when people see a Ford Mustang on the road they already know it's a Mustang. You could call it a Ford too, but that's too vague. It's not with Mercedes because their names are ridiculous.

He's a sharp guy. He's got the math worked out so he'll be profitable after run costs, maintenance and insurance costs and depreciation. He has to price the rentals to cover most or all of that. Me not being in the business, I don't know how the math breaks out, but he'll also be able to take some write offs because it's a business. In the end, he has to be making a profit sufficient to make the write offs even usable.
