@@RyanEglitis I mean, it did just boil down to a bad charging sensor. The VCU is a pretty common go to reset module for many functionalities of the car. There are some tips and tricks to each car on how to do a quick reset of some of the modules like the center display screen reset. I'm not sure if they list that in the owners manual, if not may be worth asking your friend that worked at Fisker. The screens like to go blank sometimes and even the speedometer, and most of the times a reset like that will do the trick.

In 2003 I bought a 1998 chevy suburban 2500 from a Ford dealership for $400. They though it had a bad transmission, turned out the shift sensor was loose. Cost me nothing to fix it.

My automatic transmission on my 1993 1,6L Opel Astra stopped working stuck in 3rd gear... The mechanics said it needed a new tranny that cost 1/3 of the price of the car. So I did a transmission oil flush and put in new oil and the transmission was fine for the next 3 years until I sold the car.

I had that same blue light charger issue for several days. What fixed it for me was something with the proximity key and the lock unlocking of the doors. When I went through several cycles of locking and unlocking the doors I finally got it to start charging.
@tjnucnuc2 ай бұрын
Just be aware every time you send a lock/unlock command to wait 60 seconds between each “command” also fumble around using the key’s NFC chip on the door handle to lock the vehicle that way. If you wig out the car with too many lock/unlock commands it will blue light for potentially a very long time.
@resresres12 ай бұрын
i don't understand why modern cars need to check for proximity of the key or even need a locking mechanism on the charger in the charging port.... makes no sense to me. Is it to prevent other people from coming by and just unplugging it? If so they could have easily gotten rid of all that and made it completely mechanical by designing it so you can close the charging door and physically locking it with a key, then you don't need all that junk that will make it not work.

@@resresres1 Yes and what if someone other than you needs to unplug the charger in some kind of emergency situation...
@resresres12 ай бұрын
@@ats-3693 with their design no one else could do it in an emergency either. Either don't make the charging cable door/cable lock at all or do it mechanically. Further more, let's just get rid of some other sensors that end up causing more headaches than they are worth.... Such as, the tire pressure sensor, sensor for when air bags go off, sensor for the seats, I'm sure the number of sensors for the engine itself could be reduced as well, also make the whole anti-theft sensor and mechanisms optional because they end up causing huge problems when trying to repair.

@volvo09 - I bought a Segway E110A electric scooter last year on the 'souper - cheap' out-the-door price 'cause they were not selling and the company had discontinued the line. It had a seat - sensor switch so it would not run unless someone was sitting on the seat . . . far forward in just the right spot ! I immediately found the wiring, wired - in a toggle switch to bypass (OR enable it as a theft deterrent). All else about this 'scooter' is flawless including it's cruise control! Yup, cruise - control on a scooter ! ! ! OUCH ! Love the super efficient little transportation solution for local errand / grocery shopping ! take care, rh

The quick release is pretty normal, problem is just that they decided to put it in a easily accessible spot with no warnings. The locking pin is there mainly to protect the car and the person if they were trying to unplug it without stopping the charging process, it's subfunction is prevent karens. I don't know about Fisker but Geely, BYD and VW group EVs can be accessed through OBD with existing diagnostic tools in my region, just with limited functions and sometimes gibberish diagnosis codes, but it's something to start with in to maintaining these cars.
