Tune the 7spd on the pre-facelift to the same line pressure and shift times as the SLS, the MCT looks quite bad by comparison then. 8 spd is nice but it's nowhere near as strong as the 7spd.

any faults with the car? planning ob buying a 2012 c63 amg
@stevekoffeld90712 жыл бұрын
@@stfu7308 Go for a lower mileage one that's been taken care of with a good history of maintenance records. I believe the headbolt issues were fixed/improved by then. Start it when it's stone cold, make sure there's no smoke coming out the tailpipe and no big clicking coming from the valve cover. Especially the driver/left side one. That could mean the valve buckets/cams are getting worn. A sign of poor oil change intervals(at least every year or 5K miles, whichever comes first) or driving habits(engine/tranny should be warmed up gently before hammering on it). Transmission should not downshift in full manual mode, even with foot to the floor. Can be finicky on the 3-2 downshift, especially in comfort manual. Likes a little throttle.
@stfu73082 жыл бұрын
@@stevekoffeld9071 oh my god thank you so much steven, but I'd like to ask 2 questions. 1) How often should the oil be changed? 2) Can you elaborate on the downshifting part? Are you saying that it should never downshift in manual even when full on braking? Thank you so much
@stevekoffeld90712 жыл бұрын
@@stfu7308 1. Every 5K miles or every year, which ever comes first. Even if there's only 500 miles on it. Oil has an expiration of 1 year once you start driving where it's not as effective any more. I use Motul instead of Mobil 1. 2. You can downshift, but you'll notice it's much rougher than the 4-3 downshift. 5-4 it's a hero. There's also a comfort manual........roll forward, stop, left paddle into first. If you want it to stay in 2nd when you stop you have to downshift into 2nd well before it stops. It will only do it in "comfort" manual. Good for driving around town and in traffic. Slower shifts and it will downshift on its own if you give it enough throttle. What I'm saying is, before you make that final 3-2 downshift, give it a little throttle to smooth out the shift.
@stevekoffeld90712 жыл бұрын
@@stfu7308 1. Every year or 5000 miles, whichever comes first. I'd probably do it at 4000 miles. Oil is cheap, that's a $30K engine. 2. It should never downshift in full manual mode, no matter what you do. Until you come almost to a stop and it goes into 1st. In "comfort manual" it's the same thing, except if it's "bogging" and you give it enough throttle past the detent, it will and should downshift.

(I plan to track the car maybe a couple times per year too.) (maintenance is also a big factor I don't wanna burn my wallet to keep it running. That being said I'll get an m3 with the road bearings and throttle actuators already done and for the c63 it will be either a 2012 with the updated headbolts so no issues there or if its an older year c63 one that already has the theadbolts done.)

I have a 2013 C 63 coupe with 77,000 miles and it’s stock but I was thinking about having a tune put on it by euro car tuner

Bro I have a 2012 P31 tuned with 177k miles many of them well into the triple digits and zero problems. Unfortunately it is time to upgrade. I do agree that this is one of the best most fun cars of all time.

@@Ethantherobloxanimator2 I'd personally go with the m140i, get one with a LSD, it wouldn't cost as much to tune, as the c63 is NA, if money doesn't come into it then get the c63, It doesn't take much to get the M140i above 500bhp, I recently bought a r32 (NA) and to turbo it your talking minimum of 12k

@@kanedavenport8419 how much would it cost to tune a M140i to 500bhp?
@kanedavenport84193 жыл бұрын
@@NathanMannin just dependant on the tuner, you'd be looking around 6-8k
