Made for a Crowning Moment
To celebrate the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III on 6 May 2023. We have struck a beautiful coin collection that features the first official crowned portrait of The King. This limited edition coin collection will be on sale Monday 24 April.
The collection comprises of a number of denominations, including a UK 50p coin, £5 coin, The Sovereign, and a limited number of fine gold and silver coins struck in a variety of sizes. Each beautifully crafted coin in the main collection features one of three exclusive reverse designs, whilst the obverse of these coins features the first official crowned coinage portrait of King Charles III, designed by Martin Jennings and personally approved by His Majesty. As part of the collection, we are also releasing curated historic sets.

You won’t see many coins of this quality and significance. Stunning. If I was to petty, some unique engraving around the rim of the coin would have made it the ultimate collectors piece. I feel a little deflated just waiting for my 1oz non matte version.😊

Grading seems to involve having a coin clamped inside a plastic container. How on earth is one supposed to prevent scratches on the sealed capsule whilst stacking and handling. My 10oz bar and coin capsules get scuffed from even a moderate amount of handling.

You said it perfectly. You will admire and enjoy looking at it, and then it will be locked and hidden for many years. This is why I do not buy rare coins. The fear of theft greatly reduces the enjoyment.

My Gothic Crown Portrait 2021 UK 2oz Gold Proof Coin has gone nowhere much yet, but I totally agree yours is a much better looking detailed coin. Edit - in fairness, all my coins will go to family members when I'm gone which eases the issue, but the 5 coin proof memorial Sovs set will be my last non bullion buy, low premium gold only gold Brits/Sovs only going forward. Tks your ongoing efforts. The TSF is not a bad source, but too many dealers there for many bargains now as they sell/buy there 24/7 and increasingly a number are even more £ than Chards!!

You can't compare this with Bullion. I have sold proof coins at huge premiums and profits before in the past, it's not hard to do if a coin garners attention and buyers/collectors want it. Apples and oranges on these. The difference is that there are millions of people in the world that would be prepared to buy 3 Krugerrands. There are probably only a few thousand in the world willing to pay for premium proof coins. It's finding those people when the time is right that is key

i bought the 1oz gold proof which is outragously good .and was offered the matt version but just couldnt decide the proof sovereigns later in the year or the 2oz version went for the sovereigns and save some cash , but maybe made a mistake , and should of missed the sovereigns this release

Thank you but I like the queen's beast completer coin, the one kilo which I bought by your review, much better. For one thing, the art on the completer coin is better hands down. It is also possible the completer coin may gain more value since it was the last coin made right before the queen's death meaning that maybe there will end up being not as many in circulation as the other queen's beast coins.

Lovely coin. It’s not really bullion is it? Not something you could value just in terms of gold. A collectable par excellence. Always had a softspot for coronation coins; not so much coins of the more recent monarchs where there were millions produced, more for items a few hundred years old, which were thrown out into the crowd as souvenirs for the plebs.

A great coin to hand down to your kiddies or sell it when the king carks it, should be worth a bit more then. As for the design it’s nice, but definitely not jaw dropping in my opinion, I find it disappointingly flat in some areas and I would’ve preferred to see more fine intricate detailing on the laurel branches surrounding the crowned shield. Nevertheless it’s a nice pricey slice of history, and as long as you’re cock-a-hoop with it, that’s all that matters.

And as every single investment ad proclaims, past performance is no guarantee of future performance. I’ll repeat… I like the 2-oz coin. But it’s value in the relatively near future is that of a collectible, not an asset expected to appreciate.

Dollars and euro's will lose their worth while Gold will stay strong and much more worth. Do not forget that India has a huge population that woreship gold. And they will become richer in the near future and buy more gold because of more purchasingpower. Gold is the future. The rest is fake.
