While I absolutely wanted this over the 40th anniversary GTI I have, all local dealers wanted 15k over. Got the GTI at msrp. Had one dealer drop to 10k over on the R. That was still a 22k premium over my GTI. The value just wasn’t there for me. Look forward to the content.

I paid only 3k over . I totally learned this car purchase that when you don’t give a dam and you’re seriously willing to walk away you will get whatever you want. I have all maintenance free for 3 years. Free tints and 2 t shirts . I paid 51k and traded in my truck that I got 10k for so I’m happy

I really wish they would have stayed with the previous color for the R. The Oryx White. The black wheels do have a nice contrast. This is truly luxury. Lumbar, that driver seat and adjustments is premium for sure and those rear climate controlled vents and a Golf? That's crazy. Those brakes are definitely premium, they are massive. And that Carbon Fiber. wow. Expensive, yes, but this is a lot of car.

Congratulations! She’s a beauty. You should definitely use the air care feature that came with the car. When someone in the car makes a big “air biscuit” and it smells like ass or when you’re passing a diesel truck, you could just turn it on and poof it’s gone.

YOOOOO I just got a mk7.5 and was cross shopping the mk8 both GTI. But I added up all my expenses/mods since then and if I were to do it over again. I would NOT pay to have it coated ($600 for me) and I would NOT go for the nicer tint at the tint shop and instead use a Facebook guy ($950 full car windshield and sunroof) and I would instead CLEAR BRA it first. Then get it coated sometime later on. So consider it!

did your Golf R come with a rear license plate bracket?.. I just took delivery of mine, and there's no bracket in the rear whatsoever for a license place and I don't want to be drilling holes..

Very nice! I will say, they are damn quick and handle quite well. My ONLY complaint about the newer GTI/R's is they feel so mundane to be honest. My WRX feels rather mundane compared to my old stage 3+ Focus ST as well. People call them refined, I consider them quick but simple. I figured you'd end up in an R though, considering you liked the GTI so much. Can't wait to see the content with it. I am really interested in a protuned VB wrx vs that R. Nice car man!

@@JVette01 That's EXACTLY why I have a VB WRX now. My Focus ST was epic in the summer. Ran about 285/400, it was really fun until the snow hit. Even with some decent winter treads it was a handful. The WRX, hopefully acts like the wifes 2018 Impeza, should be a bit better. I miss that insane hit of torque from the ST and just how unrefined it was. It literally felt like my highschool car, a 1991 RS Camaro. Just absolutely wild, hard to control, and absolute fun. The WRX... It's just decent and easy to drive. I may get into a Mustang GT in a couple years though. I want to see you race a protuned VB and a S550 Mustang GT.

@@JVette01 I bet it would be like most v8 pony cars. Driver mod would be the key here. I've driven a stock 2019 down the track on PS4's.. that thing was insane with the A10 I was able to get a 12.4 on an "ok" prep and newer tires in the back. I've been faster, but for a STOCK car.. wow. Now I'd like to see the R go down the strip as well. Would definitely be cool to watch, but I can almost assure you, the R will decimate the s550 in turns.

Wow how tall are you? I'm 6'5" 300 pounds with a size 16 shoe and I have a MK4.:R32 and a MK6 Golf.:R and I fit perfectly with the sunroofs. I'm a track rat and even with my helmet on I have plenty of room up top to spare and never hit the sunroof on track.
