A couple of things, a mistake by me, GM owned Saab & I managed to find a wheel arch liner as it turns out a Saab 9-3 one fits.

I think I had a rare 1990 Mini - it had a CATALYST badge presumably a factory fitted extra at the time

I think I did, the dealer didn't have it up for full retail & I negotiated a bit more money off too as well as a new 12 month MOT. I looked at the car & test drove it (this wasn't the first one I'd looked at), did some research on costs & then put my offer in. It ended up being the cheapest one for sale. I knew about most of the issues before I bought but I admit the cracked EGR pipe was a surprise. Its my 1st time doing this so wanted to buy from a dealer incase I missed something very wrong with it. Thanks.

Congrats on the dream purchase mate! At least there's no major mechanical faults, and it's still a running example. I imagine the dampness in the spare wheel is partially coming from the perished aerial. I know there has been big moisture issues with the VW Golf's and worst case scenario they come from blocked vents that sit behind the rear bumper, so it's a bumper off job. I can understand the choice of diesel as well. Unfortunately my attainable dream car (if I didn't get a post April 2017 model) was also going to be £695-700+ a year for VED as well. Absolute joke. Best of luck with the project! 😀

Thank you mate! The aerial was the 1st job I did, its such an issue with Saabs you can buy a plastic cover that fits over the top, so I did that & sealed it with automotive silicone sealant. I also discovered after lifting matts the foot wells on the left side were swimming pools. VED is insane for American cars, they are all in the highest tax bracket unless it has a diesel engine. The diesel engine is also in so many cars, most Vauxhalls, Alfa Romeos, Fiats of the same age so finding parts is easy. So shares the engine with a Fiat Multipla lol.

Well you really surprised me here with your choice, but always a fan of the non mainstream cars. That rear interior looks like it was a cheap leather when it was new, seemed to be very thin as you were showing it. Of course all those minor issues will end up as an expensive garage bill so prioritising all the problems should be a necessity. Mechanical always first of course. I did have an issue with condensation gathering into pools of water in my headlights many years ago, so decided to drill a small hole through the glass lens, yes they were real glass back then, down near the bottom and it worked, not only did it let the water out but it stopped the condensation too. All the best with it K9.

All you need to know is my favourite car brand is Cadillac. As of right now everything is sorted or going to be sorted apart from the back seats as the reason for the damage is a chemical spill probably acid so it needs a new back seat which is proving hard to find. Thanks for the tip, I might try that but if a cock it up I'll have no chance of finding a replacement! Thank you!

Good luck with the work! Never would have guess Cadillac. Interested to learn that these were built in Sweden and not sold in the US. Rather appalled about the VED cost of the petrol versions. What a con.
