Great little tractor! I have a few minor suggestions to make the tractor more efficient: 1 - Make a set of forks for the bucket; clamp-on type would probably be best. You'd be able to pick up and move large bulky items on a pallet easily. 2 - Definitely build a backhoe thumb! If you've never used one, you'd be surprised how much you can do with one. 3 - Consider building a "ripper tooth" that you can install in place of the backhoe bucket. It will function like a "big powered pick' for working around rocks and breaking up heavy red clay. (I built one using an old brush hog blade.) 4 - And don't forget to weld tow hooks to both front and backhoe buckets (one top-center each should be sufficient) so you can easily chain something to the bucket without having to wrap the chain around the machinery. Makes lifting things like large logs a lot easier. (I made all those improvements to my old tractor with backhoe - they made a huge difference.)

My Dad has the same BX25 with a 60” belly deck. He has a little over 1400 hrs on his and it’s still running just fine. I was just driving it today hauling his patio furniture and fire pit from the bunkhouse on the hill down to the house. All I can remember right now that he had to do to it was replace the o-rings on the lines for the FEL. Enjoy your “new” machine!

Man this thing is getting a workout here on the farm. I just did the 400 hour service on it and replaced a broken HST fan (not fun). Now I've added a 60 belly mower so it's really getting a lot of use around here!

Good for you. If I was to ever upgrade from my old John Deere that there would be the perfect size. Be cool to see it in action. Thanks for your service in the military. Twenty six years ago I was four years old lol.

Thanks! It's been 5 years of dreaming, and saving. When I decided to do it. I went all out and got the full backhoe edition. I've already tackled some projects that have been on the dream list for all those years. This thing made short work of them.

I've got a lot of "seat time" on this thing this summer. It really is incredible how much you can do with it. I dug out that huge area to extend my garage and it did the work without any trouble. Expensive? YUP!, but for a Homesteader like myself that was looking to go to the next level it sure is great.
@thevacuumtubejunky97746 жыл бұрын
@@FarpointFarms: Well, two ways to look at it. 1) the price of hiring someone to do it. 2) everything YOU can do with it, the way you want it and when. Once all the heavy duty must haves have been completed, and All the minor up keep throughout the years can be taken care of with the smaller implements, reselling it to the the next new Farmer starting out, in reality, just look at the initial investment as a long term equipment rental if that makes any sense. Great job Erik I'am envious of you and yours. Kind regards, Eric Dee .

I love my BX25 2012 Kubota, there is one thing you might keep in mind is the plastic HST fan. Any brush you go though could cause a twig to shear off the blades. I have gone through 2 at $2000 /each installed. The fan is $12.00, go figure. I just purchased an under armor shell to help. Have Fun she will be great....

This is bad ass, brother! Can’t wait to see it in action! Man, it’d be killer to see your barn building project. Trying to convince the ol’ lady to get a place out in the country so i can have room to work on my projects!

You are going to love that Kubota and wonder how you ever made it this far without it. Hardly ever a day goes by without me outside on one of my Kubotas doing something.

They are a great tractor. I have an L1802DT Kubota which has done many years hard work, It starts easily, drives well, pulls well and way above it's size through having 16 gears. I made many implements for it including forks, a stone grapple, log gripper, a stone sled, a triple point tow bar, a grader with leveller extension, A winch crane and a carry all. It also runs a 4' slasher effortlessly, and drags a small articulated boom sprayer I built. I also made several water trailers, one 1000 litre petrol pumped and the other Diesel equipped with 1300 litre tank and inbuilt fire hoses with live transfer, power filling, electric auxiliary pump and electric start, the Kubota pulls that fully loaded (1900kg) all over our reasonable gradient property no problems. I even used it to help a friend build a container house, and it was just able to push one end of a 40' container into place, as nothing else could fit in the gap at the far end.. everyone laughed as I drove it into place, cracking 'big tractor' jokes, but they all shut the hell up when it worked.. Actually, there's so much more that it can do by virtue of it's small size, that bigger tractors just can't, I had a 40hp International that got sold, as it was just never needed once the Kubota arrived. On top of that, it uses so little fuel I have to add anti fungal additive to keep it fresh, it takes ages to empty the 30L tank. So great score on your part, work it hard.

Nice looking low hour tractor. Think about getting a piranha tool bar for the loader bucket. It makes digging much easier and increases the capacity of the bucket somewhat. The BX's use a high temperature hydraulic oil. Don't be tempted to use regular it will cause problems. I have had a BX2200 with loader, belly mower, and box blade for about 8 years. The tractor had 1000 hours on it and I have put on an additional 500. Repairs have been reasonable: hydraulic hoses, steering ram. and the rocker switches on the dash. I replaced them with marine grade switches that drop right in. For a backhoe I purchased a new KW Dirt Master towable. That frees up the tractor to move dirt.

I have a BX2200 as well. 2200 hours and going strong, only problems other than a few leaks here and there, have been electrical. I removed the solenoid on the injector pump and installed a shut down cable..... haven't had a problem since. I have been running Walley world hydraulic oil in mine for over 10 years............ no problems. I had a leak one time, replaced a hose, but don't have a dealer close by to get the Kubota hydro oil. I was on a job with it and I needed it..... so I just put some Walmart hydraulic in it........ and have been running it ever since. Yes I have changed the oil since then but I just have never noticed a difference so I stuck with the Walmart oil.

Very nice, I’m actually going to purchase a BX24 hopefully soon. A friend is moving to another state and doesn’t think he’ll have much land. So he’s going to make me a great deal if he doesn’t take it with him. I can’t wait to put it to work.

MAN ! From the Hamilton Rangemaster Transmitter to our choices in tractors we think very much alike. I pay a Backhoe guy to do my big digging at $85. and hour with his YUGE John Deer BH. I am spending $400. next week with him or I am talking to 3 rental companies to rent that very same Kubota for a weekend. I have 3 properties and when I finish one and get it sold my shopping list has the Bx25 or the 18 with Loader and BH on it to park some cash as I use it to develop other lots and or small paid homeowners work around my area. #Envious

Last year I found and purchased a 1972 White-Oliver 12,000 Plus full size BH, paid to haul it here. Purchased a Power washer to wash all the dirt and Hydro. oil off each of the 1000 leaking hose fittings. fixed a few leakers, one hose and needed to pull apart the main valve body at some point. She ran rough, ran carb cleaner, tinkered and messed around. ran better, saw it as a great deal but also was gun shy of it becoming a and a YUGE money pit. found an Aircraft Mechanic who was an X Army Heavy Equipment Mechanic, now a homesteader near @PureLivingForLife You-tubers just over in Idaho. He Loved it and put extra cash in my Pocket !!!! If they run and you buy them right, you are ahead of the game and get the use as interest on your $ Bank Account, held in a hard asset. #Gravy$ Best.

Chances are your ride-on GT's that you've been putting to very good use over the years will be completely replaced and retired before too long now; because that little BX can certainly do all that your GT's were doing (and with more ease on you), and so very much more. I hope this Kubota BX holds up extremely well for you and doesn't cause you any unexpected financial pain. Those little machines are well built, and they strive to please. :-) Oh yeah, depending upon what you do with the BX, you might want to look into putting a skid plate underneath it, if one is not already there (it could save you from some avoidable, future grief): bxpanded.com/BX-under-armor or www.bro-tek.com/skid_plate/ or from any number of other manufacturers. Congrats on your purchase - and happy 'Kubota'ing'!
