That’s a very good price for what you get. I built a hobby version of a receiver using a Raspberry Pi computer, receiver board, mini screen and battery pack. It was close to the price of that and nowhere near as slick an interface as it has.

With the exception of the tuning knob, it seems to be more like a phone or a tablet than a radio. Maybe I'm just more old school. I'm actually thinking about buying a Drake R8 (R8A or R8B) series radio but probably the R8B. Then I'll just grab the signals from the sky like stars from the sky. 💪👊

Back in the 1970s and 1980s was best for me because short wave was really jumping and there was so much less electrical interference. These days, most shortwave radio services have ceased (except for China) because they use the internet. Interference from all the electronic crap like solar panels, internet over power lines and cheap nasty Chinese junk make it difficult to hear any weak signals. Take your radio camping and you'll be amazed at the things you will pick up because the 'noise' in the background will be practically non existent.

Hey I picked up a free Craigslist 190cc 1993 brig's and Stratton lawn mower. I checked for compression it was 55psi. I used spark tester and spark plug light came on so it's not the coil. I already cleaned the carburetor which has green mold inside the carb which I'm assuming it was not started in a long time and had old fuel. But it still won't start. So then I removed the carburetor and added small amount of fuel directly where the carburetor sits and it was shooting flames and some what chugging which was not doing before but it did not start. So im confused was it running of it was shooting flames? It didnt sound like it was running Does it need a new carb or is timing misaligned?
@FarpointFarms
@FarpointFarms Күн бұрын
I think it is your carb, sometimes you will have to clean it more than once if it has been sitting for a long time. If that doesn't work, you might just replace it.

@@FarpointFarms i just removed muffler and it spilled water and some engine oil I'm guessing from rain I will dry out gas tank and place a new carburetor, if that doesn't work I'll try tinkering with the valves even though I don't have a gauge tool and lastly timing even though I know very little on that topic I feel it might be missing it's key lock

thing has no fan and 60W TX pwr is much for such a small cooling block, it will overheat soon when transmitting with that and then that thing costs $410 u.s. . the RX & TX specs on its factory page dont look better than for other CB-radios that cost like half or less. someone who buys this radio buys it for the looks and maybe for the brandname, likes of course differ.

Great content, I just bought nearly the same damn one (great minds think alike) but mine is 4x6 from Amazon. Two questions, the manual doesn't recommend anchoring? I saw anchor solutions on Amazon, I'd hate to get a piece of sheet metal aloft in a storm, second, any ideas if this getup could support a ham antenna mast along one side or is the material too thin?

I saw lots of D-104 mics in various styles as you walked by tables. What was pricing like? fair, or eBay priced? I don't know if you stopped at the table which had, what looked like a bunch of new Antenna Specialist aerials. If you took a look, was it mostly their business band stuff or did they have a mixed lot of CB antennas from the 70's? It was a night/day change in the weather comparing day 2 and day 1. Maybe next year I'll finally make it. Thanks for the video 👍
