Sabian does make cup chimes! They're just stupidly expensive because they're grouped under the Terry Bozio Radia lineup. They sell 7/8/9 Radia Cup Chimes...I have the 7" and it's the equivalent to the Zildjian Matt Griener blast bell :)

Both the 3-cymbal stack and the Saluda china were my favorites, hands down. The stack worked well and probably worked even better with just two of them (the two chinas, that is). Smaller chinas (8” and 10” especially) work better as stack cymbals, anyways. The Saluda china sounded WAY better than I thought it was going to. It’s just the right amount of sustain, wash, and exotic flavor. Hell, I’d buy that from you if & when you were to ever sell it.

Random thought, but what if you customized a bassdrum head to have something like a doggy door likely best done by cutting the head and using a velcro adjustment system. I'm wondering if you get the intial resonated thud but with a really fast decay. Use a velcro locking mechanism that allows you to keep the "door" closed to have a traditional sounding kick. Not sure if this is been done before but if not please try it!

@@Dan-hc1ow It seems so- but this one was in a prototype group so I am not sure where it fell in relation to production or its tuning. You are right, it sounds beautiful. I never played it relative to any other music, only as an accent piece. I treasure it not only for what it is, but that it serves as a memory for the day I bought. The show was outside, the weather was spectacular and the Sabian staff were very personable. That music store location closed a few years later and every time I drive by that area it is just sad. Ding the bell for better days.

the best crash cymbal I ever heard, let alone owned, was an 18" Sabian, simply marked "18 in. Rock Crash" with a giant AA stamp on it. I emailed Sabian pictures of the cymbal, and they were like "That's a prototype, but idk which year." Well too bad for them, bc that crash was perfect and I want that cymbal back, but now I'll never see it again. I want that crash back. Sad face.

Hey did you ever see the Sabian AA 18" Sick Hats? They were a prototype and Sabian put them in full production after years of people contacting them to get a pair. I know there were only 100 prototypes made originally and I had 1 and lost it in a house fire, so 99 left that know of. But you can get them now pretty much anywhere. I use them exclusively as my main hats.
