After a lot of trial and error and testing. I found my guy loves hanging in bushy soft fake greenery.. I made a corner dedicated to the greenery and he is always in there somewhere. I put pvc pipe corners in for him to hide in and play etc. He perfers the big bushy hide out. It's fake greenery because other wise they just eat it.

Guys don’t hate on people for having axolotls for pets. You guys are assuming it’s a bad thing without knowing the truth behind it. If you didn’t know, they breath in from their gills and anytime they breath in, any nearby trash (or really anything else) gets inside their body (for example, gasoline.) Anyways, the area where they are native to is highly polluted with trash everywhere, and that is actually the reason why they are endangered. However, when people take them in, they finally have a chance to live and not breath in trash. So yes, it’s actually a good thing that people buy them

I'm ready for toothless not to live in a bare tank. Poor guy. There's no furniture in his apartment. I've been keeping axolotls for several years and I've come to find that the secret of keeping them with plants is fairly simple. I plant the plants in glass vases from goodwill. That way when they need any type of care they van be removed. Also keeps the axolotls from uprooting the plants so long as the rim of the vase is well above the surface of the sand. Good luck. Btw toothless is gorgeous 😍

Please move the rocks (if you absolutely NEED to keep them in there) more to the inside so that the little guy can move around the glass wall. They don’t see very well and this is their favorite „spot“. Also please give him plants and hide outs. This tank is not cycled. I hope he was put in there just for the video.
