As I discovered with the Halifax Compton console I am rebuilding, Compton used several different pedal contact rails, on mine the contact rail holds the bottom of the console together. Now I am going to steam my BR standard 9F in the garden.

Re Compton stoptabs and midi. I was able to modify the stop engines on my Compton to separate the output (stop control, 5 volt) from the input (piston setting function, 18 volt). This was fairly simple and did not require any external switches. This may save you a lot of time....and hundreds of switches! If interested let me know

Playing with the steam engine will inspire ideas for the organ. Great to see progress.

Can't find a used capture action from an organ tech? Still cheap, still a lot of work to put together (but less than building a switchboard!)

That’s a good idea!!

Fantastic video. I feel your pain regarding the cost. This is certainly something I hope to have to run Paramount 341 through, but the cost of decoding............I could buy a new car 😂😂. Keep at it, Alec. Best wishes.

Hopefully bypassing the decoding side will keep the cost down. 😂
