I was really taken back in time when I watched this video of your purchase of this 7120 Magnum. I worked in the Receiving Inspection Department at the Racine Case tractor plant for 13 of my 30 years. Our group of inspectors,engineers and buyers worked over 600 hours overtime approving the first 7110 to come off our assembly line . When it went into full production our department worked with over 1000 vendors to check incoming parts for quality specifications. I enjoyed you and your Dad going around your 7120 and seeing parts I used to inspect. I enjoyed the shot of the instrument cluster I test inspected. I also worked with the rim and tire vendor Goodyear, Goodrich, Firestone and Armstrong front and rears.i can begin to tell you all the parts I inspected,fiberglass ,fuel tanks and many,many mechanical , hardware parts. Thanks again for the memories..

Hello ... Nice comment, ok other day someone fr a Case dealership here told me ..YES they are mandatory to build some ELECTRIC tractor etc .. wwwwwhat..No way ..Case or anyone does not forced by Governments to build ELECTRIC anything ... ... So we have to tell Case owners to NOT OBEY the new mandate or rules of manufacturing ... TruthfromGod ...

I love my boxcars, couple things I learned 1. Do not put the tractor in park halfway up a steep hill as it can get stuck in park & in order to get it out you have to pull it with another tractor. 2. Check the hydraulic hoses under cab in offtime, they are a pain to swap out 3. I wouldn’t be surprised if that engine is original, treat them well they will last a long time 4. If it still has the small silver fuel filter in front of the regular filter, buy an extra one & keep in the tool box. Napa carries pretty much all of the filters for boxcars 5. Mine are 7200 series so they have the “shutdown ignore” switch on the right side of the dash. I can’t remember if the 7100 series has those or not. If it does, make sure that switch is not wired closed 6. Make a better cup holder out of PVC bc I guarantee you will spill drink if you put a drink in that dumb shallow cup holder 7. Blow out the fuse box with air to keep it clean Great tractors, I’d buy more of them if I wasn’t so old

Do you know how to get the clutch disengage light off on a 5220 maxxum? Mytractor keeps doing that and everyone says it’s something with the transmission but I remember my uncle saying to just push a button but I don’t know which one and that was 20 years ago. I’ve had to use that tractor for the auger which I hate doing cause it runs so well and is such a nice tractor but with that stupid clutch disengage it’s a pain to even pull into the shed!
@Otherrandomguy42
@Otherrandomguy42 Ай бұрын
@@SamBuchanan-s8g you have to preform a sequence with the clutch pedal but I haven't owned a 5200 series maxum in 15 + years so I forget the sequence. Might find an online service manual.

Congratulations Aaron ! You wont be disappointed - Those are the most bullet proof tractors and transmission!! I know first hand when I worked at the CaseIH dealer and I also drove them myself.. we sold a bunch of them and I knew some farmers that put 10,000 hrs on them without any engine or transmission repairs

Good buy! As far as the difference between the 7120 and larger magnums, the biggest difference is heavily drives in the rear, bigger axials, large 1000 pto, and i believe the had more clutches in the trans along with better cooling to handle the extra hp

check the pressure's in the accumulators, for the powershift, keep them charged, make sure the valves are adjusted on the engine, and there is a power post in the bottom of the right front cab post, that can give you electrical trouble, no hard to change, it is by the fuse panel. nice looking tractor, i ran a 7120 for awhile, my budd yhad 3 of them, and they all acted different, the one i liked to run had way more power then then the other two 7120's.

Aaron, I have. 4450 that I bought with 600 hours on it. It now has 52,000 hours. We overhauled the engine twice and the transmission at 35,000 hours. The tractors of that era red and green were certainly bulletproof. You will be very happy I think. Lastly, what is your often cryptically referred to “off farm job”? 😆 It seems you have to drive a ways to get there. Just curious as to what your other skills are. I admire you and your family’s OCD. We have great pride in what we do(milk cows) as you certainly do as well.

We have a 7110 & 7230 for quite some time and like them. I've driven several neighbors magnums and they are nice as well. I think we've got about 90 gallons in ours so we have the 95 gal tanks (side saddle). Don't forget to grease the front end (10hrs in the book)- should be 6 zerks by each tire and 4 in the middle (2 on the knuckle in the housing for each side). Replace the far front lights with LEDs right away and a couple on the rear (all of them if you can afford it) - wish we did that 10 years earlier for tillage. Let me know if you have any questions.

Had a 7120 years ago. only thing I remember going wrong with it was timing gear cover would start leaking. If I remember right case had an update for it. It was a good tractor only reason I got rid of it was we ground feed/ hauled manure with it and when the livestock were gone didn't have much use for it. Was too small for my tillage and planting equipment.

Pretty sure you are going to like this tractor. I have a later model of this tractor (8920) and it’s great ! Only thing I would have like different about these tractors is, a shuttle forward/reverse would have been nice. I also miss having a foot throttle. Compared to newer tractors, road speed seems slow, but most of my tractor time is in the field and not on the road. We have axle duals, and my tractor is primarily a tillage tractor or grain buggy tractor, so duals stay on. Best of luck with this tractor.

7810 and 7120 both excellent tractors, like others have said, pull the 2 accumulater off under cab by the batteries, you’re local dealer can make sure there full of nitrogen, if you change hydraulic fluid make sure you stay with good quality oil, I like hytran or hygard, cheep oil will de laminate the clutches, expensive fix to save a little on oil, just my 2 cents worth, thanks for sharing with us 👍

You all are great examples of farmers that keep a close eye on money, investing in your farm and future. Why just buy a new tractor, equipment, or even a car when an older, perfectly nice and well maintained one that has many years left of trouble free life, can fill the need, at a tremendously less expensive price. Who needs all the auto-steer, digital readouts, GPS, just to keep up with everyone!!! This is another reason why your family are still in business and expanding, while maintaining a high quality of production in your farm. Being a JD man from way back, you keep turning me more toward that Red color with every video!!! I will say operating my old neighbors 706, for baling and running a haybine, was something I will always remember as being a great experience and wish I could do that again!!! Good luck with your new baby!!!

Nice looking machine. Brother and uncle had 7110 and 7130. Good working machines but a warning, don't overheat them. They both scored their pistons. First gen weakness on the case-cummins engines. They added more oil ports to the blocks on the 20s Magnums. Also learned that the 10s will run hot if the radiator is built up. Pressure wash often, and dont let the 10s run hot. Case IH fixed some of the 10s heat problems by adding more hood vents on the 20s. They are great machines and enjoyed running them. Like any magnum, use good quality oil and keep the radiators clean and cool. Looking forward to seeing it in action on your family's farm. Congrats.
