I have owned a 2013 Scion FRS since the day they launched. This is the most basic yet awesome platform to work on and drive! It's amazing and I'm sure the K-Swap will make it even more fun to drive. KEEP THE ENGINE LOW LOW! That K-Series is gonna be WAY higher then the stock boxer engine (did you know your ass only sits 12 inches off the road from factory?) so mounting that thing LOW to keep the hood down and lower the center of balance will make a huge difference to the driving feel. They are really great cars and as long as the weight stays down, it will handle better then any car you own!

The only Subarus I've ever seen last over 100k miles is naturally aspirated. I'm sure someone out there is a good builder and has made them more reliable but truth be told, even built they are still unreliable and expensive to make power with. If you think about it the boxer is destined to have more internal wear due to the horizontally opposed pistons. Most ringland failures happen on the lower side of the piston. Typically caused by poor tuning yes but even stock wrx/sti have both failed in the same fashion. Better cars out there to mod for cheaper

K engines are super cheap especially with all the places that import engines from Japan. They have strict emission laws over there and engines get swapped often to a new one. Apparently some areas have a cap on mileage, once an engine hits 50k km it has to be changed for a new one. The expensive part of that swap is all the parts to make it work and fit and even the engine management to make a Honda engine work in a Toyota would likely be more than the $1400 complete engine. Stock engine is an FA20, Toyota's code is 4U-GSE, not one of Suby's best creations, they normally get tossed in the bin for an EJ20 or an LS. I've worked on a few widebody Toyota GT86s and Subaru BRZs, one was initially stock but later modded after I tidied up the Rocket Bunny widebody that was meant to go on it, another was a full blown drift car with an 800hp LSA crate motor, T56 and Winters quick change diff, one was a hot street car with a jungle gym of a roll cage, and another was a BRZ that was bought written off and repaired to a point to be used as a drift school car. They're surprisingly easy to work on, pretty simple, parts both genuine and aftermarket are readily available, the front chassis rails are ridiculously wide so you can drop just about anything you want in there, and bare body shells are cheap to get hold of if you want to make a proper race car out of it. When you get a cage welded into them, painting it is a pain in the ass if you're a big 260lb 6"1' gorilla like myself, its not easy getting all the parts of the cage covered and looking schmicko

This is a perfect car for you to get into doing some road racing in, and it with that kit being able to keep AC it'll be comfortable on the street too

There's some time trial series for the 86/FRS/BRZ across the US and I'd be interested to see you take part in some events. They're a lot of fun, it would be great exposure for grass roots motorsports and you'd get to see a bunch of performance minded builds to draw inspiration from.

Before we know it you'll have a k-swapped C8 with 1200hp and 35mph. Love the k-swap Porsche and NSX are my fav's. But this frs may soon too that list because it is something I can reach for and do

Ready to see this. Kswapped miata like tommyfyea was clean but think a FRS will be even better chassis wise. Those wheeels need to go asap...

Porsche sounds like it has a little bit of a knock, noticed when she was backing it out. Sounds amazing when doing the donut though.

I think it’s cool as hel/ that these companies are making K swap kits for all these different cars making it that much easier for the average person to do the swap themselves with very little to no fabrication needed.

I bet that kit is 💰💰💰💰💰

I'm not complaining though I know Kyle is just making content.

id like to see your KRZ with a unique turbo setup. i mean twisted headers, turbo blanket, (or supercharge it with a whiney boi) really make the KRZ a really nice car. comfy interior mods, practical use aftermarket items, sequential. and like a fun 800HP. High 700s even :)

This is going to be great. I think the k in that chassis will be great. More true to its routes.

Kyle you rock! Love the channel and content! I'm here for the algorithm! Peace

It needs a flat-plane crank V8 w/equal length headers. But a K swap would be cool too. Buy a 2.2 liter crank to change it up a little bit.

Literally K swapping the world😂 but I’m loving it🤘🏼
