Supercar? What is that? It can't be a car that was over-priced to begin with and is now broken and really wasn't any good when it was new, can it? That's not a SUPER car or a SUPER anything. That's a headache. You bought a headache and when you spend a gazillion dollars to fix it, it will still be a headache. You will get about 15 minutes of trouble free driving and then you will need another gazillion dollars to fix it again. A SUPER car is a car that is safe to drive, reliable, comfortable and not likely to ever catch fire while it's parked by the side of the road. The only thing you got right in the title is "HUGE PROBLEM".

I think that this is a no-brainer. Keep it and fix it up. If you really have all of the pieces and Scott is willing to consult every now and then you should have no problem getting it back together. It doesn't even look like it is particularly damaged, merely dis-assembled. I'm sure that some of the parts will need replacing but it should be manageable. I'd put money on you being able to finish this project well before Freddy gets his P1 done.
