@UpperDarbyDetailing
@UpperDarbyDetailing 2 жыл бұрын
There are reasons for that. Part of that is because of the order of operations. You have to brace it to install the A pillars and roof properly. You need those installed properly to do the roll cage properly. Also, the bracing being done is not exactly high tech. One set of braces should be front left to back right and vice versa at the height of the top of the door. I believe that covers it, but I freely admit I may be wrong about some or all of this.

Eh, screw around with cars long enough and you too will end up buying the last-whatever-in-the-world. I've pulled it off at least once on every car I own... Including a 2020 WRX. It's especially common with body parts, because the factory will basically just make x extra bodies and never assemble them, and that's the entire supply of OEM body parts, for all time. Pre-painted body parts are in even shorter supply, because those are literally just whatever was left over in the racks when they were done assembling cars - usually only ever one or two each. Finding this kind of stuff isn't really hard anymore, since the OEM parts inventories are all heavily computerized these days - it's basically just a matter of finding a dealer parts guy who will humor you and look even though he knows damn well it'll have been exhausted ten years ago and be suitably surprised when, yes, there absolutely is one left. On the top rack in the back corner of a warehouse halfway around the world, next to the ark of the covenant. It's especially funny when it's some incredibly minor part like a badge or a windshield wiper nozzle and the pricing hasn't been updated since it was discontinued 30 years ago, so they charge you 80 cents for it. Or your OEM might be Dodge and they just throw everything left in inventory away as soon as the factory warranties time out.

With all the cease and desist things they've done in the past, I'm surprised they wouldn't do this project themselves and not let someone else do it. Nice to see the 355 resuming work. I'm sure you're aware the roof section is aluminum and the rear body panels are steel, so these cars even from factory were known for bi-metal corrosion along the seam where the C-pillar meets the body. That's where you need to put the join and you have to be careful how you make it.

The 10 years I owned my 87 FC I NEVER once came close to having to open the motor up and I daily drove it for probably 7 or 8 of those years until I wasn't in a good enough position in life to keep up with the maintenance.

Respectfully, Freddy, you could've used the body kit without ever mentioning the guy and/or his brand. As another commentor said, the guy already has your money. While some folks might have known whole made it (I didn't and always wondered why that front end was up there) most would've been clueless if you'd just glossed over the manufacturer and removed any badges. Granted, it's your car, and your money; but just by directly addressing this kit and the builders issues, you've already stirred the pot and made all us curious folks figure it out. As for folks asking about Jared, most of the stuff lately has been body related. I've noting but good things to say about Mr. Pink, but I don't think body work is his forte. Always surprises me that, anytime Jared isn't seen for a while, people have to make it into drama. Plus the man has basically taken over Wrench Every Day, which has its own huge list of projects to complete.

Then i see the mclaren and what an incredible transformation ( put a cover on it tavarish :) and the transformation of the Murcielago. Its incredible enough to pull a motor, maybe the body but to weld, cut and dealing with allllll the wiring is just incredible. Much respect. Fun fact. I have a Peugeot 406 coupe. Totally different car but from the same era and designed - and built - by Pininfraina (as 355, but not the same designer). That said, both cars have similarly shaped C-pillar and in my case, the car also has a joint (barely visible) somewhere in the middle of the pillar. Looks like they did this that way, at least back then.

Watching that pillar cutting hurt. 355 has been my favorite Ferrari for 30 years. Was a teen when they came out. It’s the last true Italian made Ferrari model imho. I almost bought one ten years back but the timing belt replacements financially kept me away back then. Now I could manage but they are sky rocketed in price.

The way some channels talk about dealing with Ferrari as a company, I am surprised they deemed it acceptable to sell parts to someone like Tavarish who only reaches a measly 2 and half MILLION subscriber audience.
