@MrSpeed-lt8gr13 күн бұрын
I just got this model in white used for $850. I played it at church this past Sunday and I loved it. It can do Strat sounds ( not necessarily classic Strat sounds because of the hotter pickups but still very good) and the Full Shred humbucker is like a ‘78 humbucker on steroids. I just love how this guitar sounds and plays. I’m very fortunate my home church lets me be myself when I sing and play so I’ll bust out some 80’s licks when the Spirit moves me. This guitar is a keeper in my book.

I look at it this way. Every guitar is a "Church guitar." It's whatever you can afford, whatever you are comfortable with. So yeah I would play that in the Worship Band. No problem. My main guitars I take to Church is a Fender MIM Thinline Telecaster, heavy modified to 72 specs, with the Fender Wide Range reissued pickups, 1 Meg Bourns pots, 022 Orange Drop cap CRL pickup selector and Top Hat knob and I also is a Fender American Professional II Telecaster Which I put in Fender locking tuners. I only take one guitar for the 4 to 6 songs we play on a Sunday and no I don't have any fear of breaking a string. If I do. I'll work around it. Before getting saved, I was a professional musician for over 20 years.

I have played a plethora of guitars at church over the years. I break out my Union Jack Sheraton every July 4th just for humor and it is a stunning guitar with Gibson Mini HBs. I've played Teles, Les Pauls, Heritage 555s and double cut H-147, White Falcon and Sparkle Jets, I have the silver to Brian's beautiful gold one. I've played my Firebird, Strats, Danelectro, PRS's, several vintage Ibanez Artists. I even played a Swept Wing, think surf music. I have not brough my Flying V to worship yet, I thought that may be a wee over the top for some! I have played my Teye Electric Gypsy La Mora, it's pretty flamboyant but the Lollar Imperials are killer! My main guitars for worship are a Novo Serus J and Duesenberg Starplayer TV, they are fairly benign as far as shapes go.

Believe me if Jonathan/HW can play a Double Neck, anything is possible, it is WHAT you PLAY with it, not the instrument itself. NOW if ya paint a little DEVIL on it, you might RAISE some EYEBROWs!!! I almost bought a 72 Gibson BLACK Custom back in DEC, of 97, I was a NEW/NEW believer, the Custom had a Playboy Bunny logo on it, I might have mistakenly taken that one to Church, it would have awakened the Practice Service for sure, til someone told me. Later in the Sale day, I opted to buy a RED 335, for a bit more MONEY, it had no logos. Good thing I passed on the CUSTOM.

These Charvel s when they were introduced I think 3 different lines with different pickup configuration all were named the best 🎸 at any price range 3 years in a row...you are obviously finding out why....and like you guys I do love my PRS ....but I think these far better especially for the price. The bridge is a super shred and medium output btw not high like a JB but the sustain is its biggest strength along with clarity... Loved hearing you play your Helix patches they always sound amazing
