Ricky, an NA silvertop 4AGE with ITBs from an AE110 would be a great engine to throw in. Reliable, sounds amazing, has the ability to go up in power, revs to the moon, all the good stuff. I think having a more “normal” car would be a great choice compared to the rotary madness.

Would LOVE to see this built on the channel! Throtl would do amazing things with the car. You guys already do a lot of themed builds, especially for F&F. But if you guys started doing other builds, like turning this into Takumi's AE86 from Initial D, would catch a lot of attention! Turn it into a drift machine with the 4AG-E 2.0L... Build it Bunta-Spec! Would make an AMAZING addition to the Throtl Fleet! I know Micky would probably get excited by the idea of building a car like that~ Maybe even do a RHD conversion on the car to make it USDM/JDM? There's so many options! This is just my opinion, but would LOVE to see the garage get their paws on this one! Love the AE86!

The new Corolla GR motor would be nice too. I’d assume it would be a bit pricey, but more than enough power for that chassis. Finding a wrecked one to swap over into the 86.

Mira! Finish the Miata and then all hands on deck on the 86. That's such a special car, I feel like sticking to its roots and going original engine is only fair. Modifying a timeless classic would feel like an injustice to it

What I love about Rickey, is his default engine pick being the 13B. I can always count on him to choose a 13b as an initial engine to put in his vehicles, even if he does not put it in, in the end. I like that about him😊

Considering that car is rear wheel drive, the engine that will be fun to be put in this car is the 3TC. The 3TC can be bored to a 2 liter that will scream. Put a dirt track killer in the engine bay.

13b is awesome in an ae86 but will turn into a big build. Bearings on the 4age on carbs is prob gonna be your easiest to get up and on the road - I'm assuming parts are not that easy got over there without actually knowing 😅

I would love to see a ricky styles build on the AE86. Maybe you and or quinn can rebuild the 4AGE motor, those sound sooo good! maybe a little ITB action? Beams and k20/24 would be easier and more powerful but i really love the original motor. Wouldnt blame you either way. 13B would be cool but i think for Daily duty and reliability the 4 cylinder would be better. Maybe you and your Son could do a little father son build on it!

That 86 deserves to be brought back on the road. I would love to see the full build from start to finish. Go Beams or the stock 1600cc, you said it yourself you already have too many rotaries, and you want to use it as a daily anyway.

Boricua over here, I remember my brother having an '81 liftback Corolla in the late '80's. 1.8 Twin Cam with Makuni ITB's it is the only way to go with that AE86

Totally want to see the AE86 build on the channel. As for engines let the miata keep the rotary, and as good as the beams is and sounds loads of KZbinrs are doing that or have done that recently. I’d love to see a fully built 1600 motor. But whatever you decide it’s gonna be awesome 🚗💨

If you were planning on rebuilding or getting a new bottom end for the 4age, I would recommend that you get a 7afe bottom end. The 4age head bolts to it and the whole thing bolts straight in to an 86. Just because the 7afe's are cheaper and you'd get a little better torque.

I wish i could challenge you guys to build a weird swap. For years, I've wanted to build.a Toyota Yaris with a 5th Gen 3S-GTE AWD swap, massaged to about 350hp. It just sounds so outlandish, but so do-able. I just don't have the money.

Look, this AE86 is in similar conditions to the 300ZX, the process of restore that nissan has been taking long time but people still there, watching it, 'cause that what throtl is about, people love that PROJECTS. So, If the throtl team would build up that AE86, whatever it will be the engine, bodykit, hp, etc, people definitely will love it ❤.

3rz will almost bolt directly in there that will be a totaly different build very strong engine an they don't mind boost plus its a 2.7 liter. Australians are doing a ton with that engine

I would like to see you take the original ae86 iron block and swap out the head for the one out of the ae101 gts, eliminate the vvt-i and put on some ITB's

Hey Ricky you should buy a 7afe bottom end and then slap on the 16valve 4age head on it and then deck the head a bit, port and polish it.
