I bought an abandoned sailboat for 400 euros | S4 E19 HD 1080p

The search for a project boat is over. I am now the proud owner of a 1988 Beneteau First 305. Abandoned and drifting in Vliho bay for 2 years, the sole boards were floating and the engine in bits but it is a sound little boat.
Lets get started bringing it back to life!

We have an ‘88 320, very similar boat and as mentioned above, the copper strap is an attempt at a lightning conductor. Very dubious how it would ever perform so I wouldn’t worry about it, or the keel bolts, they are most certainly just rusty heads. Good luck with the refurb.

Tranquil bay. ! IBA have the Volvo seal. Easily changed in the water as long as the shaft hasn't got so much growth it won't slide back. Have fun!

Copper strap you were referring to may be for lightning. Before these boats were fitted with this unit and strap. If it connects to your chain plates for your rigging then that is what it was for.

As I already said. I filled a jerry can and took it to the public disposal location in Nidri. I would not entertain the idea of pumping diesel into the water that's just plain wrong.

Word of mouth. I asked around at the local bars as well as the yards. The smaller yards may be better than the bigger, more formal places. I also posted on local Facebook groups.

It was abandoned - I tracked the owner down. If I hadn't it would have still been abandoned and probably sunk in six months.

So where did you pump all that nasty diesel water out... right into the water Or did you at least put it in a tank. Since you didn't show us where it was at.. I'm assuming you pumped it right into the water ...Which is a very very Bad thing to do .... A sailor should show more respect to the water

Actually I filled a 20 litre Jerry can and took it to the official disposal point in Nidri. Don’t assume. It just makes an ass of u and me.
