Tip 💡: From an old nurse . Always have Vicks vaporub in the van. If you get into a smelly situation rub a glob under your nose/ above your lip. Also for lingering smells a Vick’s nasal inhaler will kill smells immediately. In nursing we got into a lot of those situations and we all kept Vick’s in our lockers! Looked like a handyman/ maintenance guy locker. Glad you’ll make your money back on it. Always love seeing Renee in your vids!

Kenny, is a jack of all trades, master of none , and also a couch surfer. Does odd jobs and gets by, but needs a place to put his stuff from job to job. I wouldn’t want my “temporary guest” to bring all that stuff into my living room. He makes enough to pay a storage unit, until he doesn’t. Decides maybe there is more work in Florida (takes his clothes and the better tools from the storage and drives away). At least it’s always warm there and the beaches are awesome. Just the story I created for this unit. I actually know someone who did just that. He even had the stinky pillow.

I focused immediately on the music aspect of the contents. I have a musician in the family and there are lots of guys that do temporary crew work of all kinds that would have had storage lockers like this, including the dirty clothes. They often live an almost transient life but I recommend researching those autographed posters before you dismiss them. That small dolly is a clue as well. This person obviously did construction type work too.

Bring along a can of Lysol and spray it down if it’s a “stinker.” Paint is generally good indefinitely if it hasn’t frozen. Many communities have paint exchanges and drop off locations for partial or unused containers.

I've worked at a facility for about a month now ....i got like 40 something units to cut locks and get ready for auction this week...at least not at my place anyone would do that...they all seem trustworthy plus we have cameras ....but hey my manager told me if i wanted to bet on some the units whenever that day is she could let me have that day off so i get first peek but thats going to be hell for me to remember which ones a like at a quick glance knowing alot of them will prob be paid off soon anyways...our process is pretty quick and even if my manager and I weren't trustworthy there isn't enough time to go through a locker.....we get pictures done before and after(for liability reasons with paperwork bc alot of tenants will prob end up paying before auction time)... I cut the lock,tag it,and put on a"ready for auction" lock on ...so even if i was a P.O.S. human there isn't much time to do that with my manager and front office people busy with other stuff and me doing maintainence things .....i've always wanted to bet on a unit so atleast i get first dibs on what they look like for like 30 seconds a locker lmao and probably only me and either my manager or co-worker get to see it in person as im told alot of auctions are online now

Some Habitat For Humanity locations take paint and recondition it in a machine, then use it for when they build homes, or they sell it out of their outlet locations to consumers on a budget.

As soon as the tenant looses ownership of the unit and it becomes property of the company, that's when they rummage through and take what they want. Then takes photo, making sure to position items so the unit looks appealing on camera. Remembering to blur out questionable spots or clip view (fuzzy slanted shots) when in doubt, all while not forgetting to leave "something" of value so the new owner does not feel completely gypped.
