I bought an eMachines T3304. But why?

In the automotive industry, they call this kinds of stuff "lemons" - Dirt cheap pieces of junk plagued with problems. That's exactly what this eMachines is.
Well, the eMachines T-Series systems (such as the T3304 or T6000) were at both the top and bottom of eMachines' lineup in the mid-2000's: You had the T6000, one of the first 64-bit desktop computers for consumers, sporting an Athlon 64. And on the exact OPPOSITE end of the spectrum, there's the models like this: the shoddy, Sempron-powered T3304. You probably shouldn't buy an old PC with a SEMPRON, because they're usually junk. Oh, and this one came with a Bestec power supply unit and bulging capacitors, so it's junk galore; garbage everywhere!
Well, I don't know what else to say about this thing. I also apologize towards anyone who actually owned this model growing up that has nostalgic value with this model, since a lot of people grew up with an eMachines as their first computer. In fact, if that is the case, the two of us are in a similar boat, as my early computers (a Lenovo C-205, Asus Transformer Book T-100, and Dell Inspiron 3252) are quite shoddy and don't perform all that well. Well maybe if I still had them and hacked the Vista onto the C-205 and 7 onto that Asus T-100 and Dell Inspiron 3252, but I don't have either of those two anymore (but I bought a new Inspiron 3252 about a year ago so maybe a project on my hands? idk)
Enjoy!

So, this PC is now sporting the Dell power supply from that Compaq Presario SR1020NX that won't ever get a newer video! Also it has been tested (my older sister tested it while I was out) and has had a recovery media image ran on it. Interestingly, the disc drive doesn't like to stay as it is (it keeps ejecting), so it's good to see that this thing works!

Fun fact about this video's production: At 6:13 in the video where I say "scrap the "test" part of the title", this was because my initial plan was to give this video the title "eMachines T3304 Acquisition and Test ~ (subtitle)" instead of "I bought an eMachines T3304 ~ (subtitle)".

I deadass remember the Acer era since I saw my mom buy two of them from a local Tiger Direct. I currently own a Celeron 450 based model that's basically a great recession special that's maybe going to get modded.

@@steelsofliquid I know. I'm acrually shocked it and the PSU held up since around 2011/2012 when we bought it. Just reinstalled the OS and currently getting it ready for an upgrade or two.

I just got T3304 and looking for drivers because the hard disk is dead. Are the drivers still available online?

I'm not sure; the Internet Archive doesn't give any results for "emachines t3304" however some tools can provide the right drivers for systems, but I've never used them apart from some driver installation through Legacy Update on a Gateway desktop from around the same time period.

What do you think of the Dell Optiplex GX150? I am curious since it’s the first Dell to have that popular 2000s case design, first coming out somewhere between late 2000 and 2001 I believe. I personally love that design and I have a GX260 SD from 2003 with that case.

I think it's fine, though I've never owned one.

@@steelsofliquid I’ve had two. I bought one on eBay 2.5 years ago as an impulse buy, but I never powered it on myself, I’m actually pretty scared to lol

@@steelsofliquid Have you ever had a computer with a blushing capacitor? Cause my GX260 has some on the motherboard which I know is something I should probably fix however that can get done.

I really gotta tell you, these Vintage PCs like the Dell Optiplex GX260 or the typical 90s/Early 2000s PC are sooooooo huge!

What do you think of AIO computers? I think they are a pain in the ass as I have a Mid 2009 iMac and I took it apart to install an SSD and also clean a lot of the dust out and all the screws and crap and I was lazy so I didn’t screw it back and sometimes the face will fall off which sucks. Cool concept, but not for me. Any Desktop PC is nice because they are so easy to tinker with.

I think they look nice, but storing them may be difficult. My family used to have a Lenovo C205 all-in-one back in 2012, and despite it being a really shoddy model I want one due to nostalgia value.

Why u had so many old computers I miss them that supports the old systems

Well I find way too many old computers on eBay. I wish I could get more 90's beige boxes, but they are way too pricey for me (and at the moment, such purchases are out of the question)

My mom used to have that Black and Sliver Compaq you see behind the emachine, oh my god I thought they were soooo ugly! 😂. The case design stands out though, considering when it came out it looks newer than it’s age.

Yeah, I want more Compaq systems, especially since the Compaq in the background is broken (in a functional way, unlike my laptop which broke both functionally and cosmetically) and is, for the most part, a decoration, but it's also my go-to system for practicing my computer repair/maintenance jobs as if something goes wrong, nothing of value will be lost.
