Dell Inspiron 530 Acquisition and Test ~ This is one of THOSE units...

So, about a year ago, I got a Dell Inspiron 3252 that can't run Windows 7 and isn't a great PC otherwise. Well, guess where I am now! It's the 530 MT this year. This PC too, was a "meh" kind of budget PC, but unlike the 3252 that was built 8 years after it, I bet it could run the previous OS. That's good, because that means XP, and XP on this may possibly be able to rival my HP Compaq 6005 Pro SFF... That's what I would say, if it weren't for that this PC has a HIPRO power supply, meaning it's not gonna be good in terms of resource-intensive tasks.
Well, I don't exactly know what I'm doing with it yet. I'll check Dell's website for drivers, but at the moment I cannot get this PC set up due to the absence of a hard drive cable. So who knows? I may have a decent thing, I probably have a piece of junk! What I do know is that depending on where on the "computing timeline" this Inspiron falls (2009, but hey, you can put XP on a Vostro 230, apparently, not tested but, I've got a Vostro from 2010 and this PC is from 2009 so... who knows? ^_^), it may be a golden PC for OSes, but I don't think so. If it is (I'm doubtful of that), well, maybe expect some ReactOS, Haiku, Linux, and maybe some other stuff I need to download proper ISOs for.

Love it! Late 2000s aesthetic, pretty, very nice PC for the time I think. I’ll add, I have a PC similar to this at home, a Vostro 200 SFF, I haven’t used it since late 2016 though. It had one of the first Core 2 Duos I believe (it was at like…1.8GHz I think?) and it had 4gb of ram. It said July 2007 inside 🤔. It was nice but man the fans were loud when you first started it. This is why I think these cases are special, and they also look good for the time. When I was in grade school in the late 2000s they had at the time new Core 2 Duo Optiplex PCs which were more squarish and open (I think you know how they look), they were nice but nothing special aesthetically speaking, at least in my eyes.

Nice! I have a Vostro 230 from 2010, with an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 and video card from the factory, along with a copy of Windows 7 Professional. And I also used it to record some notable videos in the past, due to it also previously having a Windows 7/Vista dual-boot configuration.

We used to have that computer back in 2009, it used to have windows vista but we upgraded to windows 7, in 2013 the computer wasn’t working and it blew up RIP Inspiron 530 2009- 2013 and that’s was my parents computer

Thanks! So, not only did this happen this week, but I also got RTX raytracing working in Minecraft and I set up an Instagram account for my dog last night. I've also been planning up a video on Windows 98 and the PC I have it installed on, but I have yet to film it and probably won't do so just yet as I've been feeling sick for the past week.

While Windows Vista starter was just the aero theme and does not require alot to install, but i still do not like to use it as fewest features, even when u try to log out, u get log in back somehow, you cannot create a user.

Yeah, that and Vista Starter somehow has a 3-program limit, and multitasking becomes difficult, too.

I have that same computer as a little 'guinea pig computer', where basically I just test random garbage on it.

Interesting. I've always used virtual machines for testing recently acquired software and whatnot, so I've never gotten a proper experience of such a concept.

That’s not all, My grandparents used to have the same computer but it lasted longer the difference is they kept windows vista not upgraded to windows 7 they bought it in 2008 then 10 years later in 2018 their is a different reason why it broke because that the computer when I was resetting it to factory settings because they don’t use the computer anymore then I cancelled the reset process and the files got corrupted when boot it up it’s something was missing R-I-P My grandparents Inspiron 530 and 2008- 2018
