I BOUGHT AN *EXPENSIVE* CRASHED FORD FOCUS RS MK2

That's a Milltek exhaust, Airtec intercooler, K sport brakes and looks lowered and has an Autospecialists plenum. Decent tyres, clean MOT history so I reckon it's been enthusiast owned until the accident. I reckon about 400bhp. RS had a lot of bespoke parts compared to the rest of the Focus range (suspension, wings, bumpers, brakes) so anything not basic Focus is gonna be £££. Hope you can restore it to its former glory.

The ST dash fits the RS and yes you can buy a normal one and cut out the centre bit but I’d go for an st that been done at the factory

The TVR is not a simple fix to do it properly, he has to rebuilt all he car starting with the frame

I know the original comment doesn’t indicate this, but seeing people getting pissy over easier cheaper projects being prioritised over a project that needs a full frame rebuild that the dude doesn’t even have in his garage because he’s sent the frame away to be rebuilt is hilarious. If you’re dying to see a TVR rebuilt look for a completed project or do it yourself

@@SavingSalvage Christiano is right Dean you just plastic weld them together using a temp controlled soldiering iron you can get a cheap one off Am(zon) and use it at the lowest heat at (170) degrees and start welding aka gluing them together from the back and them blend the weld at the face of the liner that you see in the wheel arch i do similar for welding my 3d printed parts together for a seamless join

It's shocking i paid over 500pounds just for the front lower grill in black from Ford dealer about 4 years ago mine was starting to rust. Still have the rs in green not a cheap car but loads of fun. Good luck with the build 👌

Dean love the car and that colour. Just a heads up the loud ticking is a stuck heater blend door actuator which luckily in your case is a dash out job

Nice change from the usual expensive VAG stuff you usually do, although I think that you may have too many cars unfinished at the moment. My guess is that the RS is at a stage 2 state of tune, will be interesting to find out and of course see the whole thing rebuilt and test driven within an inch of it's life!

You should have known that it was going to get expensive when the initials after the word FOCUS, was RS, instead of ST, All Ford RS's cost a small fortune to maintain, and fix, let alone upgrade..still my favourite focus MK, and shape, I've had the ST in that Mark/Shape, and always wanted the RS but couldn't afford it..I even like the colour..😂

If someones wants a turbocharged 2.5l Volvo whiteblock so badly, he should rather opt for a Volvo S60R with AWD in prestine condition instead and he still would pay less than for a MK2 RS.

£1000 for a bumper same colour is an absolute steal mate and if you had to get it painted it’s a lot more than £300 especially that colour😮 ever since ford announced it was dropping the RS brand (for now🙄) prices for cars and parts have rocketed nothing cheap and ford are absolutely ripping us off🤨

Hi have you ever been in a Focus ST 2.5 it's exactly the same the seat belts actuators the modulators for all the same ford do not make specific things for one vehicle certain things wings bumpers but electricals they're all the same so look to buy a cheap St with a blown engine you will have the dash and everything you need

I feel stage 2 it has KSport brakes with floating discs and just those alone are around £1500 Stage 2 intercooler and the inlet is Airtec aftermarket. . The exhaust is aftermarket as well so its pointing to a stage 2 upwards

The green uprated plenum chamber that is plastic as as standard and breaks if running too much boost so its been uprated and the give away is the airtec intercooler so it's probably running 400bhp

That must be around stage 2 or 3. The exhaust is not standard it’s stainless steel. And I am sure the dash is the same in all of the mk2 focus models but non st or rs models have a plastic cover instead of gauges

Did you connect the headlight adjuster on the new wishbone! I noticed that the new arm you fitted didn't have the clinch nut on and the headlight adjuster is connected to the arm when fitted!

May seem petty but front discs are on the wrong way around, grooves on forward rotation take any dust to the outside of the disc, these are taking it to the centre, just swap them around.

have u ever thought of buying a donor car as will save thousands on parts if you bought a focus rs rolling shell itll supply all parts u need and you also have advantage of breaking rest of car to recoup money more than likelymake money id look for write off thats got blown engine gearbox or rear end smash that doesnt damage any parts u need once removed all parts for your car and any spares or upgrades donor has yours hasnt then can sell recaro seats front back and door panels for over £1000 till have dash clocks steering components wheels bodykits parts windows panels most parts have a price if its on an RS FORD My 1st Ford was also bright green lol between 14 and 17 i built a genuine mk2 Ford Escort RS mexico in signal green bought as rolling shell when was finished 1st time it was 2.0 with flatfront and xpack zakspeed style bodykit when i was 21 it was getting shabby and i was offered a swap genuine ford rs2000 xpack front end for my genuine mk2 flatfront even though my car was a mexico i loved rs2000 nosecone with 4 lights etc so i swapped fitted 2000 front resprayed it castrol colours diamond white with signal red and green stripes on sides up rear panelbootover roof too bonnet and i knew an old sign writer who was amazing artist who painted portraits of cars on bonnets amazing details and was coachbuilder by trade he sign wrote all decals on car to copy zakspeed turbo cars of 70s with castrol and rtl radio luxemberg looked great car was like that for 10 to 15 yrs then decided full rebuild wasnt to bad plus id collected lots rare rs parts over 20 odd years fully rebuilt backto flatfront still xpack back to signal green as factory colour to think i bought a genuine mexico in 1986 for £30 and a set of goodmans magnum speakers big speakers 12inch bass liquid cooled tweeters and mid range and car didnt need any welding or painted and was standard no engine gearbox bought rs sump bellhousing enggine mounts for £100 and a mk4 cortina 2.0sport for £30 car was rotten but engine was great and low miles after id took engine and gearbox for escort i was offered 500 for interior as black velour lol 70s i gave them whole car for the 500 and kept wide magslot wheels off it put standard cortina wheels on it built car under 500 in 80s now id pay 50 grand for mexico not as good i still own it now aged nearly 51 it gets m.o.t if decide on cpl shows also have escort cosworth i bought for 15k in 98 low miles 2nd owner valued now 80k plus mental ridiculous prices of ford bits as have rs or st badges on label since ford sva usa took over its all money not customer satisfaction all focus rs models shouldve been 4 wheel drive turbocharged cars like escort cosworths shouldve been focus was escort on steroids instead itd front wheel drive and on beta blockers not roids lol by mk2 i thought must do 4x4 nope then mk3 an ugly blue 5dr only focus words fail me no 3dr option go F urself rs owners and fans 5dr and thats all not even 3dr rs fiesta rs is not rally sport anymore its no better than gti badge i had an exlondon met mk2 focus bought at auction car was an st withthe rs pack had engine and running gear of rs in police st focus mk2s so if ever offered one play dumb and grab it wish hadnt sold mine cant keep em all all luck in world with rs focus if i hear of any mk2 bits up scotland way ill let you know ok m8
