Nightstalker, Snafu, and D&D were three of my favorite games! Very cool. I find it hard to believe it was "untested". I call words this channel wouldn't say on that. 😉

It’s a liability thing. I’ve seen it frequently on items where there was no way they didn’t plug it in.

As an artist, I prefer Atari's old school box art for 2600 games, but Intellivision definitely had some good looking covers in the mix, too. Video game box art, like album cover art, is a lost art nowadays. Feels like it died sometime in the early '90s...

I would use this system as practice for future soldering jobs. It's better to mess up a cheap system then making a mistake on something more valuable.
@RetroGamingNook Жыл бұрын
Still a great deal. Bake that system to reflow the solder points like a video card. Had a master system that was flaking out on a few games like Rambo. I popped it in the oven for a bit and it fixed everything. Working perfect for 7 years. Make sure you remove all plastic first. Just the board gets cooked.

I still have Utopia. I loved it, but I was too little to know how to play. I just loved poking around the map and trying to make things happen. In 1983, that's how you figured out how to play - push buttons, make things happen, die, try again.

Great pick up. Failing capacitors can cause all kind of weird things. Still looking for a good deal on thunder castle.
@themegaman91965 Жыл бұрын
Maybe I shouldn't have linked anything (original comment deleted), but the most likely culprit are the large capacitors responsible for providing power, and I'd clean the cartridge slot with contact cleaner, or deoxit with a toothbrush. Though Console 5's outta stock of capacitor kits for it right now, there should be some others out there. Best of luck!

Wow, that's an even better deal than I got on mine ($50 for an Intellivision 1 with 12 common games in box, mostly complete)! To be fair, I got mine as a birthday gift though.

I'm calling "dry solder joint". It seems that it corrupts after a while of use. I'm not an electrician, but I've got experience with bad caps ,and in my experience they are faulty ,whether hot or cold. Good luck with your quest for a fix !!!

Great pick up. Soon it will be time to play the best Intellivion game of all, Dracula!

You just have the wrong firmware installed and/or it's the TV's settings causing it ;)

Well, that’s too bad that it doesn’t work properly, but I glad that you still got a good deal on this. Did you run the RF output on the console through a VCR to that HDTV?

Ahhh....DK Oldies! There's a name I had not heard in a little bit thanks to Rich from ReviewTechUSA as I can remember Joey and his blonde wig!

So question, that's loosely Intellivision related: Within the recent news regarding Unity, wasn't it estimated that most of the Amico games were made in that engine? In as much as a fact that Dynablaster is using the engine? While of pure serendipity, wouldn't it be fun to calculate how much Intellivision would have to pay per their original moonshot chart?

Could it be the power brick? Is there another one you can try it with? Still seems like a great deal

As far as looks go I think its even better then the Sears edition. Although the Sears unit has far better controller quality.

Great vid !! I picked up this console from a Quebec game store in decent shape. Love the NES color scheme and detachable controllers. Shame the controller quality went so downhill compared to the first Intellivision. Utopia is system seller.

Maybe a bad Cap or I forget what it's called but I had problems with an atari 2600 and it was some type of heat thing I'd go on the forums and describe what's happening I'm sure it's a simple fix

The Intellivision 2 looks great but the controllers are even more painful to use than the original, the addition of hard edges definitely didn't help on their controller design. I have a working loose INTV2 as well, nice pickups! Have never seen a couple of those games.

I struggled with many of these Intellivision games as a kid. Initially disliking them but after reading the instructions (several times) and slowly figuring out the rules, I eventually preferred the more complex titles.

I first wasn’t planned to buy the intelevision 2 but then eventually i just couldn’t resist,i just had to buy one and so i did and i also bought nintendo games and a sega game for it among others and i got no regrets about it😁

Why? The original's controllers are better, even though they are hardwired. And all game carts work on it.

Such a poor packing job on their part. No padding on the sides, everything squished together, obviously rushed, they piled on bubble wrap on the top and called it a day.
