For me it would have to mid 2003 to mid 2004 if I could relive a year. Maybe not every single day but yeah this was when my dad was sent overseas with the national guard. He came home from Iraq on two weeks leave around September or October 2003 and bought my PS2 then along with Socom US navy seals. That and we rented some PS2 games that week one being Ace Combat 4. Needless to say I sucked at Ace Combat 4 but liked it. A few months later in January 2004 I bought my own copy of the game with Christmas money and it was my favorite thing about 2004 replaying but over and over and still top favorite game of all time beating it several 100 times by now. That and other games like WWE Shut your mouth and TV shows like Whose Line is it Anyway with Drew Carey and X-Men Evolution. Then there was middle school and stuff about it I miss like my grandfather taking and picking me up from there. Uh sorry rambling on some nostalgia now. Point is while I am 30 years old now 2004 will my favorite year of all's time I would go back to. As for PS3/360 era I missed it as my first PS3 was in November 2013 and my first Xbox 360 was June 2018. PS4 was September 2015 and Xbox One was a One X back in February 2020 when Walmart had them for only $300.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is actually my favourite game of all time (after completing more than 750 video games). I think it's deeply underrated. It has a story about making a sacrifice for the greater good (similarly to old greek heroic poems), with biblical elements. It has fleshed out, interesting characters, it has a world and creature design that is truly magnificient and reminds me of the best fantasy movies of the 80's when creativity was at its peak (The Neverending Story, The Dark Crystal, Willow, Labyrinth). It has an extremely deep and thoughtful combat system that is so refined that you can master it in a way that you'll never get hit ever through the entirety of the game. It has monumental and memorable bosses, as well as clever gameplay elements that constantly change and extend the game's core hack & slash nature (such as creative puzzles). The whole game feels like a fantastic journey, accompanied with a soundtrack that is easily on the level of the LOTR's soundtrack.

I bought a used 360 copy of Tony Hawk American Wasteland this weekend. I'm looking forward to hooking up the 360 and playing it. I replayed the Skate trilogy last year, later in the week I started 2, Skate 4 was announced. I even bought DLC for 2 I didn't buy at the time.

@@furrypurplehaze6837 I haven't played a JRPG in years. As an adult the usual juvenile characters/humor and the romance melodrama doesn't have any appeal anymore. Even the games I used to love now make me cringe. I'm not the target audience anymore. When I discovered western JRPGs I never looked back. Lost Odyssey came at a time when I had already grown tired of JRPGs and it was so refreshing to play a game with adult characters and themes. I thought the game was really beautiful. Enjoy! :)

Since that xbox is a trinity board, if you're intrested look into installing a mod chip to it. You'll be able to install all your physical games to your HDD to GOD format. Totally worth it for any collection, and you'll be able to keep those valuable disks in mint condition.

This is awesome! I picked up this version of the system the day it was announced way back in the day. Two important things, first there's another star wars refference on the back of the system. A logo belonging to the company in star wars that built RD-D2, and the other thing is, if you play the podracing game on kinect star wars, play on normal or higher. DON'T play on easy, it basically just drives for you and it's super boring. Normal, it feels very similar to the N64 Episode 1 racer.

They should really bring back the kinect to help with VR motion tracking. The tech in the kinect 2 on the Xbox 1 was way ahead of it's time and it is highly advanced. The cameras in the kinect are actually used in airport security because if it's advanced tech

If you can find a way to play Undead Nightmare without the latest Patch, it can be a blast. There was an update in 2014 that completely broke that Undead Nightmare DLC. If you can somehow bypass it, it's a really darn good zombie experience. Loved it.

Operation Darkness on 360 is really unique. It’s also a really hard game to get into, so that’s why it failed to sell in the US on release. If you want something really niche, I think Operation Darkness is a one of a kind experience, possible only on 360. It’s getting more and more expensive tho and it’s not so easy to find anymore.

I have one modded with 4tb internal space mostly filled. Love that thing. Was just playing it a minute ago. Props to Masnart for building it for me. Matty, just a heads up, the disc/standalone version of Undead Nightmare is broken unfortunately. You can play without issues for a couple hours, but eventually you'll notice zombies with no heads that are invincible. Rockstar never patched it... That being said, the digital version is 100% fine (you access it through the base game's menu). Still one of my favorite DLC's ever, hope you enjoy it!

I don't have the backwards compatibility issue as I never got rid of my Xbox 360. It's still hooked up to my 55 inch 4k HDR tv, next to my PS4. I'm mainly a PC gamer these days although I do subscribe to Xbox Game Pass for PC and (sometimes) PS Now. Seeing as the original Saints Row never got a PC release I thought I'd better hang on to my old Xbox 360 Elite.
