Todd desires 10 year support horizon on his games. Thats great, but stop launching your games broken and expecting people to be patient while you spend years to fix them.

I really want to watch this interview, but right now I just can't. I'm just too infuriated by the fact that the Fallout 4 playthrough, that I was enjoying before the series and that "F-ing update" now won't start. At this point I don't really care to hear a word that comes out of the man's mouth. Maybe one day, but not today.

Interestingly the parts that disappointed you were the things I agreed with Todd on the most. I would find remastering the original Fallout games to be a complete waste of time personally as the old Fallout fans and the current day fans are completely different. Same thing with the "spin-off" games. I couldn't see myself playing an Elder Scrolls tactics game or a Fallout card game for example. Bethesda has actually done those things before with Blades, Legends, Fallout Shelter, ect. and they were all failures (with the exception of Shelter). Imo those would just be a waste of development resources, I just want the next main line games sooner and anything they can do to speed up their development is great to me. I also understand their protectiveness of loaning their franchises out to other developers. We all have rose-tinted glasses because of the success and legacy of New Vegas, but in this industry that game is a huge outlier. Most companies that hand off an IP usually screw it up and it ends up being a failure. Obsidian hit a gold mine with New Vegas, but their recent track record has been increasingly more shallow and disappointing. I cannot see a current Obsidian made Fallout game being a success. It just isn't the same company anymore like it used to be.

This interview is genuine, relaxed and informative. And you guys seem to just nerd out about Bathestada and their games. Really nice of the boss himself to take time and effort to talk to us all. Thank you both for this gem

Feels good man, all of Todds love and goodness is focused on Fallout and the TES crybabies are left begging now for more content.

i beat the outer worlds, not life changing but good. although i wanted to claw out my eyeballs by the end of it. The overall contrast genuinely hurt my eyes and by the time I neared the end just looking at the start menu made me sick to my stomach.

I hear what Todd was saying about "Not wanting to rush things" with Fallout BUT I was 38 when Fallout 3 came out and hooked me in. I'm 54 now and want to play at least one more adventure through a new (or new New Vegas) wasteland...

This is the farthest craziest shot ever but imagine isometric fallout ported to mobile. My ignorance may be shielding me from reality but I feel like the point and click nature of it would work really well with a touch screen.

As a major critic of Starfield this interview will make check Shattered Space. A full area to explore. Finally. I bought a Xbox x for Bethesda games and was horrified by Starfield gameplay loop. I really appreciate a quality interview . Thanks Matty. Exploration is why I loved all those SP games. Cheers.

What strikes me the most about todd howard is how he's so aware of the public conversation about the games. The paid tracker's alliance, fo76 expeditions, the low reserved space for mods in fo4 and skyrim and so on being underwhelming, to the implementation of mechanics in starfield like gameplay tweaks, vehicles and maps. He's certainly lurking in reddit. Hell, he might have read some posts of mine because Im fairly prolific there and a moderator for several fallout modding subs. Btw, in less than 2 weeks from the release of the creation kit starfield has quickly become one of my favorite games, while before I couldnt return to it because of its shortcomings. What mods did was untarnish the rough edges and reveal the diamond that was always there underneath.
