Haven't played AC in over a decade. Why did they get rid of the original combat? I found it to be very fluid, revolutionary, and fun back in the day. It looks so arcady/rpg-ish now.

Y'know, ac has this fantastic theme or fantasy that they could use to their advantage, but hasn't really been touched for years. Animus, assassins vs templar, modern day, apple of eden, and their core gameplay, PARKOUR. I don't see they're going this route, which would make people compare the story with the same Japanese theme titles like ghost of yotei and so forth. So probably going to flop with somehow decent reviews.

If only you were as bold towards bethesda. Ubisoft has gone down hill for sometime and they have a blatant disregard for historical accuracy or they sensor certain topics. In truth they had an easy job with this game but still mucked it up sadly. oh and what I mean by the opening sentence you tend to seem a bit too positive towards Bethesda then less critical of them. Okay, the invisible walls actually is the breaking point for me. That is such sloppy design. If you don't want people to get up somewhere to avoid an encounter, don't create a level that allows you to in the first place. It pours a bucket of water over player agency and problem solving and always feels horrible.

Story telling of indiana jones just shows Bathesda still has what it takes. Indy is brilliant, story driven, exciting, adventurous, exploring, solving things, mixing with locals (yeah in case those haven't figured that out little chores for locals). The eldersrolls 6 will be legendary!

Assassin's Creed Shadows is just a Frankenstein of the 3 open-world entries. You got the beautiful but empty environment of Origins. The mad basic combat abilities of Odyssey. The strongholds with a bunch of enemies and predictable pathing in Valhalla. I don’t see anything that's unique or interesting about this game outside of the Japanese aesthetics

Regardless of where it takes place, it will not be good. The gap between Skyrim and the present day (early 2025) is just under 15 years. The gap between TES Arena and Skyrim was around 17 years. There is a very very high probability that the gap between Skyrim and TESVI will be greater than that. There is almost NOTHING Bethesda can do to make it remotely worth the weight. The game would have to have the entirety of Tamriel at LORE SCALE (Massive cities will millions of inhabitants) with the most complex and in-depth gameplay mechanics ever designed. I have nothing but trepidation and extreme cynicism in regards to news of TESVI. It will be AI generated slop trash. I'd LOVE to be wrong and for the game to live up to expectations, but I don't think I will be. Don't preorder. Don't fanboy when a real trailer releases. We need to hold Bethesda ACCOUNTABLE. If the game is trash, we need to boycott Bethesda. If it's good, we give them no congratulations. They owe it to their fans.

This take is insane so hold up we’re gonna compare shadows to all these Japanese genre games but we’ve never done that with any other title the whole franchise. It’s not supposed to be to be a good samurai game it’s supposed to be to be a good assassins creed game. We never compared vahalla to Viking games, we never compared black flag to pirate games. Then my real question becomes would we have kept that same ideology approach if those games have other standouts in those genres or is it the constant Ubisoft is down so let’s kick them bc it’s cool. Too every far cry game is a masterpiece in its own right expect 6 every watch dogs game is a masterpiece in its own right except legion every ac game the same idea as well but this one game bc it’s in Japan smfh. The games gonna be great for 2 reasons 1 ac doesn’t miss they just don’t it’s almost like gta and 2 bc of that chemistry everyone holds the engine gameplay flow responsible for every game except one and that’s dark souls. Souls can have its own genre that defines those games but nobody else can. Not Bethesda not Ubisoft not even Rockstar but it’s just a fact.

I think one of the many problems Ubisoft have made with this game is that people want a main character they can actually get invested in and care about- I bet you the only backstory you’ll get about the main characters will be at the start of the game and it will then cease to develop said characters story other than some half assed revenge plot. I guarantee you will not remember these characters like you would Ezio in 10 years time.

I have zero faith that they will be able to balance the two play styles of Yasuke and Naoe. And that goes along with idea that these two stories for these characters are definitely going to be a low point, those writers seem awful.
