Hello from New Orleans Louisiana, I'm subscribing because of this wonderful content. Also I'm trying to find information on a 1839 Tower Pistol, when it arrives I'll post a review. Need some parts for it and any help would be greatly appreciated

Invest in a hollow ground screwdriver set. Much better than those wedge shaped ones you are using. It will keep from further damaging screw heads.

If it is not impolite to ask, how much do you pay for these guns? It seems that there are a lot of them (relatively speaking) in England. I dont think we have as many here in the states.

Sure, no problem, I have a video on my channel where I unbox this and other pistols I bought from auction and give you prices I paid for them. For a pistol of this quality, in this condition, it really should be maximum £50, but prices are climbing as the outlets you can buy these from are getting less and less, so prices are climbing and a rough example like this can get to £100.

@@morriscarstairs2685 Thanks, I'll look for the unboxing videos.

That wee old thing proved to be a 'Right pain in the ask' eh. - Down here in NZ that sort of antique can cost anything from around NZ$700 upwards - as NZ Police don't require any licence or registration for pre-1900 non-cartridge antiques. - Legal to own but NOT allowed to shoot. - Did you harden the welded bits just by quenching? Thanks for sharing Morris.

Thanks, same situation re guns here. To harden; I heat the part to the correct colour and then quench, I show this in my other videos.

The other day I ran into a similar problem in the US. Every state is different, had a shock when I learned my 1866 Springfield has to ship via ffl. Now the low price at auction makes since 😅

This gun was used during the post New Orleans conflict. The Marvel Comic book villain named Commander Kraken used to use one of these pistols on Iron Man/Tony Stark. Right long before tge vigilante named Scourge killed him.

Morris on average how much do you pay for these pistols? I have been looking around and it seems they run from about 240 to 500 pounds ( Ya I am in America but converted it in pounds) and that is in pretty bad to so so condition

Thanks for your comment, if you look at my previous video "Antique Pistol Haul Unboxing", I give the prices I paid for them, but for this pistol I can't quite remember the price, but for an example like this, in this condition, I wouldn't have paid over £150 tops and would really want to pay less than £100 for it.
