JL .28 ofna motor the sleeve was stuck I did all the tips and tricks I watched all kinds of videos on KZbin and still could not get the sleeve out of the motor I've cut so many zip ties it's not even funny. But I did what you told me to do removed all the components from the motor turn my oven to 250 degrees set a timer for 30 and I tried it with the zip ties again and it came out and I wanted to save the sleeve. I've been racing the hyper 7 series for years, no plans on changing. They're tanks, I know them like the back of my hand, I've got all the spares I need, and they suit my driving. I have settled on pillow balls in front and hubs in rear. I have learned how to remove all slop from the steering rack, makes it feel glued to the dirt. I have a tq, a pbs and a pcr. Although at this point they are all conglomerates. With race grade engines and servos they keep up with modern race buggies. I've been watching videos on your other channel for years, good to see you're still at it. I've never dug those Mac 28's, had to ditch the stock carbs to get them running right. Also, that's actually a pbs body, those are hard to find. It fits all the versions except the tq.

I need some help. I can't get the sleeve out from the motor, I've heated it up and still not coming out and tried the zip tie trick. What should I do to get it out?
@TheRCBiker4 жыл бұрын
Hi Tony, Seems you've tried lots already. Are you planning to replace the sleeve? Use lots of WD40, make sure you're heating it up to at least 100 degrees C with a heat gun, the Zip Tie trick usually works really well. If you can't get anywhere with the heatgun, remove the carburettor and all the other components and put the engine in the oven (i'm not joking!) at 250 for 30 mins. Then try again with the zip tie trick. Something I did on an old Team infinity engine ages ago, it worked!

Hi jt12, 3:02 is that how the gears should sound? I always adjust the engine to get the gears as close as possible without “dragging” like it sounds there. But maybe I’m doing it wrong, I have no idea hahahaha
@TheRCBiker4 жыл бұрын
Hi Dani, how you're adjusting them sounds fine! The gears on this are adjusted OK, they might've just been a bit "dry" for not being used for years, bit of GT85 sorts them out :)

Hi Josh, great channel. I've returned to the hobby after many years absence and I don't know whether to buy a new 1/8 Hobao VS or VSE, or an ebay Hyper 7 as a project. I have a Thunder Tiger EB4 which still works after 17 years of being stored. So I'm torn between just keeping that going (discontinued and possible parts problem) or trying something new and getting a Hobao. You seem to be very lucky with ebay. Current Hyper 7's are around the £120 mark so advice or thoughts would be welcome. Thanks again for a great channel. You have been doing this for years and your knowledge and experience shows in every video.
@TheRCBiker4 жыл бұрын
thanks for the kind comments Mark :) You can get some good stuff on eBay but it's always a bit of a gamble as some people treat Nitro engines poorly and you could end up buying something that's a lot of hassle. The new Hyper 7's are great, if you can I'd say go for a new one! VS or VSE purely depends on your nitro/electric choice, being a nitro fan I'd always say Nitro :D
@markscotchford41594 жыл бұрын
@@TheRCBiker Thanks Josh. You'll be pleased to know I've gone for Nitro :-) A second hand hyper 7 so wish me luck. Hobao seems to have quite a few models. I need to do research on what are all the differences. For example I don't know differences between the VS and Hyper 7. Interesting in a review quite a few years ago you said you'd prefer the equivalent HPI to the Hyper 7. (Mainly because the HPI was waterproof). I wonder what you'd say now. :-)
