Kraken Dice are a good gift and there’s lots of options on their site. Also Etsy has lots of neat dice. If you’re willing to spend a good bit a 3D printer is a great gift. My husband prints his own characters, monsters, walls, etc with his!

There are some small businesses that make great dice rolling trays, “dice jails” (yes, sometimes we punish our dice for rolling crappy), and other accessories that help you keep track of small pieces. (I have been playing RPGs for 40 years.). If there’s a game shop he frequents and they know him, go there and talk to them. They’ll help you find something good.

I have that exact solar charger. We love it, especially for camping. The first time you charge it you have to plug it to the wall to get a full charge. The solar is meant for recharging. We wall charge it the night before we leave and just from that we can get 4+ full phone charges from it. Then when we are hanging around the campsite we stick it out in the sun. It's fantastic. My husband mocked me relentlessly when I first bought it then stole it on our first trip, so I bought him his own.

Addition: It takes much longer to charge it with sunlight compared to a regular charger. The Solar Panel provides online little energy compared to what we are used to. But as you use it, it is absolutely Perfect because you can extend the charge/capacity.

Question: if you use all the battery after the solar recharge does it need to be plugged into a wall charger again? Because we had bought a charger from this brand to get us through a week of having no power from a hurricane, we charged it once in the sun (without wall charging it) and it worked but every time after that it would never recharge. The directions that came with it never once made mention of wall charging it before using the solar, so we ended up returning them thinking they didn’t work.

Came here to say this. You have to recharge it with the wall sometimes. The solar option is for recharging. It’s like $5 of gas doesn’t fill your tank but it tops you off and keeps you from running lower. It’s the same concept. There’s a back up battery in there that’s solar charged and it only holds two bars of charge at a time. From what I understand

My in-laws bought the Yoto player for our daughter for her 4th birthday and she loves it so much! We don’t use it as a replacement for reading her stories, but more as a screen-free source of entertainment for her and she also loves listening it to her when she is lying in her bed before she goes to sleep or when she wakes up in the middle of the night and it works so wonderfully for that purpose! We also love the make your own cards because then we can add any of our daughter’s favourite songs to that or can record our own voices too.

I was so intrigued by the candle so I went to their site to shop. On the site it explains that these candles are designed to tunnel about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way and then the wax beads should start "waterfalling" in with the rest of the wax. The tunneling would drive me nuts so I'm glad I read that bit in case I get some.

My kids are huge fans of yoto. There is initial setup, but after that is done, it's so easy to use. My pre-reader loves it at bedtime in his room as a bit of quiet time before bed. There are also "make your own cards" and we had all of the aunties and uncles and grandparents record themselves reading stories for a family story card. There is also yoto daily with Jake, kid appropriate radio, etc!

I’ve had the eye mask for over a year. I absolutely love it. I usually put meditation podcasts on and play it over Bluetooth. There’s an auto shutoff. It’s terrific for tired eyes from too many screens or headaches. I also have dry eyes and amazingly it helps with that.

We LOVE our YOTO. For us it’s all about the card you program yourself - we update them with what the kids are currently into. It’s also nice to have grandparents read stories and they can listen to them with the books when they want.

I’ve owned that Renpho eye mask for over a year now. There are multiple modes so you can turn on/off the vibration, pressure, heat, etc. I love it! My only issue with it is that it’s really hard to control. You can use either the buttons on the front (which you can’t see when it’s on your eyes), or the remote (which you also can’t see when it’s on your eyes…). You sort of have to find the mode you want and THEN put it on. I do find it to be super comfortable, similar to wearing snow goggles 😊

You can most definitely wear slippers with socks especially if your feet get freezing cold. I wouldn't think of wearing slippers any other way. In fact my feet get so cold that I wear my slippers to bed but mine aren't like yours. They're sort of like slipper socks with those little nubby things on the bottom so you don't slip but they do have a little bit more structure then a sock but they don't have a waterproof bottom so if you step in a puddle in your bathroom you will get wet.

Solar charger is awesome. Dont know if its the same brand but I got my SIL one last yr for Christmas and he loves it, never leaves home without it. He charges it at home to get it fully charged and uses the solar when he is out. He hunts & fishes a lot. He says he solar charges it while he is charging his phone & it (the charger) doesnt get below half charged, even while charging his phone.

For Solar you need to have it on the south side of the house because that’s where you get the best rays of sun, also the best time of the year for solar is September-October and April-May. Any other times of the year it doesn’t do much

I think all boxes that apply this concept, whether it's Tonie with the figurines or Yoto with the cards, are very overpriced. I don't know how long the stories on the Yoto cards are or if there are more than one on a card, but for the price of Tonie figurines, I can get my son half a year of Spotify where he can pick from thousands of items, both stories and songs, with new items being added daily. I'm glad that we never got a Tonie box ☺️
