Kurt’s daughter said she doesn’t agree with the release of Kurt’s journals. She said she has not and will not read her dad’s journals because it feels too private. If his own daughter feels that way, I don’t think it is right for Nirvana fans to read them. I don’t think Courtney killed Kurt (Kurt was in a bad mental state and had his issues), but she definitely didn’t do any good to him. Mental illness is destructive. I’ve been struggling with that since I was a kid and a few years ago I wanted to end my life. I have a good job, a good life in general, but I hated everything. I couldn’t find any joy or reason to live. Good thing I don’t have a gun because that’s the fastest and easiest way to end all my misery. Btw I’ve never done drugs, so his mental state must be 1000x worse than me. That’s why I believe Kurt actually did kill himself because I can relate to this.

I love autobiographies but not at the expense of someone’s privacy. For me the best alternative was the book Cobain on Cobain, it’s a complication of all accessible Nirvana interviews, transcribed. Each interview is prefaced with the interviewers experience in retrospect. I really enjoyed reading it and it felt less invasive.

I just wanna read things about Nirvana, Kurt's song writing, artworks, early versions of Nirvana's works and their ideas about the future of the band and stuff. Personal thoughts and inner thoughts of Kurt doesn't interest me at all and it seems morally wrong to read them. @@Live.love.timothee.chalamet you're not gonna be supporting it if you're reading it through piracy, but it's valid that you don't want to invade his privacy even after his death, though you can only read it because someone else already invaded his privacy by publishing his diaries, so you'll only be a 3rd observer on someone else's mistake. also, no one really cares, and you're free to do whatever you want to as long as you're ok with facing the consequences of your actions BUT that's just my way of thinking, do whatever feels best to your morals and priorities.

Generally speaking here, I believe most people are often against the exploitation and intrusion of privacy for anyone. Especially for a person like Kurt Cobain. There’s is good reason for that. He’s not even alive to defend himself on behalf of his own dignity and privacy. As well as given the circumstances of his cultural impact and the manner of how it all ended, it was certain there was going to be exploitation. I have read the book in full and I must say it was quite interesting. In my opinion, there was certainly exploitation for monetary reasons and that is something I don’t stand for, as well as a breach of privacy being quite unfavorable too. I have often felt conflicted within myself in regards to the invasion of privacy for Kurt. My burning curiosity for him couldn’t withstand the means of keeping ethics in check and depending on you view it, it was quite disrespectful to indulge. I apologize. For anyone who is thinking about reading this book, I would encourage you think openly and with attentive empathy. The book exists and is out there whether you believe it is good or bad. If circumstances played out differently and Kurt lived, I doubt any book regarding deeply personal and private moments of his life would ever been published. Kurt Cobain was an extremely complex person, and it’s too bad he is not here in this current day. One could only speculate his opinion.

I have a paperback copy of his journals but I haven't read all of it because I feel like I'm invading Kurts privacy. Idk, I just feel some kind of way anout it. In the end extremely famous people don’t have privacy. It’s only human to want to get to know them on a personal level. As fans we put them on a pedestal and things like this make you see they are humans and have struggles like everyone else. Cobain put his pain and confusion into music and self expression. He could have became more twisted and messed up and tried to hurt people. My guess is he was a conflicted and emotional guy and found a way to cope until he couldn’t any longer.
