Hey Nyasia! I live in beautiful North Coastal San Diego & your New York tours always make me want to pack up and head East. Just a heads up…. Joshua trees are protected in California because they’re a candidate for the California Endangered Species Act. As a result, it’s basically against the law to remove any of them from your property. Recently a couple here in CA cleared a lot of Joshua trees from their property to make space to build a house. A neighbor reported them & they are facing an $18,000- fine. Make sure to keep that in mind when considering another lot. BTW, the second lot on the second day is the winner!!!!

Congratulations, I bought 5 acres in Newberry and the journey gets tough being alone...I've made some progress and be careful of hiring contractors to level and grade the land, also check the soil as you may have soft spots that you'd need a 4 wheel drive

It's amazing to see someone buy land in joshua tree area, I considered buying land out there although I wasn't really sure if I could do anything with land in the middle of the desert. Also the Joshua trees can't be cut down so I figured that would be some type of issue when it comes to building around it. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the 2 acres you've purchased. Maybe it's will insipire others to do the same.

I want to do the same thing, but I want to create a compound ( I'm planning this for myself and my son), at least 2 tiny homes and some other fun stuff to set up in the future, like a woodburning hot tub. I love this video so much!!!!! I'm doing some research on zoning . I'm thinking of getting a property that has an existing structure, because that will help with septic, water and electric set up. Im definitely getting a premade tiny home

You should absolutely do it! I agree, the existing structure is the way to go. Avoid lengthy permitting process and much more affordable to renovate than start from scratch.

May I ask where #1 & #2 are located? You have many options in regards to what you can do. I have lived in Vegas 2x, AZ 2x and N.M. I am not a desert person I discovered. Too much dirt. I realized I need water and lots of greenery. However, I could certainly use such a space for a winter get away or investment. I have seen many such properties used for off grid camping/glamping spots. The key would be to have someone live on site to deter squatters and theft. I look forward to your futurevideos.

Start with Zillow. Use the tab that shows "Other Listings"...those are the properties for sale "by owner" and you can usually get a better deal / rate.

I was able to negotiate seller financing for this land. There are some wholesalers that sell on terms over a short period of time. Start with the “other listings” section on Zillow...that’s usually where the for sale by owner deals are and can be more favorable in regards to terms.
