Everyone leaving NYC has not regret the decision. I mean when 60%+ if your income is going to living expenses, it leaves very little room to save. NYC is a bubble, and the world is way bigger than NYC.

At 24 in 1996 got my first tiny home in Ft Laud for $30,000. Tripled in value sold in 2005. Bought my second home at 33 in ATL for $130,000. Tripled in value since sold in 2015. Both my previous mortgages combined with taxes & insurance included, didn't exceed $1000. Our family Brownstone in Bushwick is paid off, worth millions now. Bought in 1971 for $30,000. Since I returned home 10 years now to Brooklyn/Bronx Areas, my rental home is more than both my 2-4 bedroom homes. MY 🗽NYCITY Insanity!!!

How ironic, previously lived in South FL(6th Borough With Palm Trees🤣), Stone Mountain, GA(Confederacy Alive & Well, No Thank You)🤯Seevren, Columbia & Baltimore,Md(Military Baby & B'More whole block look like a bomb went off!) Worked in Elkridge. Even though only 4 hours on I-95 back home to NYC, it felt isolated in the DMV to me

Love the architecture and home decor. Had a family friend homestead their property in Joshua Tree in the 50's.

Decorate it like a conversion camper-van, then the remaining storage space will be ~ "ample"(?).

Currently in the same Boat. Lived here all my life but as a 25 year old living on my own…. I can’t live comfortably. It’s ridiculous. I’m looking to move to the Carolinas in a few months. I would love to stay here but I won’t be able to really start my life and have a family comfortably here. All of my friends are leaving. Ridiculous.
