Since people keep asking, yes Grizzly was nerfed. In playtesting it and Moose Buck were simply way too strong for their cost, leaving very little opponents could do to deal with them. They simply weren't fun to play against. So, their stats have been reduced by 1 to keep them strong, but make them less oppressive. As for Ouroboros, yes, it's not here, and likely won't be until I finish the rest of the project. As a card, it's simply way, way too strong and clunky mechanic wise to keep. But nerfing it felt much less ideal. Maybe it'll get made later, but no promises.

Death was by far my favorite one, if anything for the artwork (and yes im one of those players who tried to make bone decks work, fight me) I would also like to see te tech and magick cards get some love (good luck finding edaxio though, heard there was a pretty nasty legal battle over that card, so the few copies that exist go for hundreds if not thousands of dollars online).

I used to have a Flying, Waterborne Urayuli. And they weren't misprints(common misconception,) they were Collector's Edition cards. If you met a high level GameFuna employee, they would give them out to anyone who asked. Most of them were custom made, some of them are one of a kind.

damn, the Beast Cards are really aggresive, quite fitting really, poor Techno players who basically have an empty board for like 3 turns, so they have terrible matchup against Beast decks

Yeah honestly techno players do well with hybrid decks tbf if you make a deck with good starting game and then survive to late game then the tech part of the deck takes over. In fact Hrokkall kinda shows that beast and tech do have potential in hybrid format as the card benifits both.

Yeah, Tech is more of a supplementary archetype in practice. On its own it has some stuff it can do, but with no reliable way to mitigate early game damage, and basically giving your opponent free time to set up their engines, solo Tech decks rarely perform well. Though, if they can get Energy Conduit running late game, they have some nonsense they can pull

@@PixelProfligate Just an idea to balance it, instead of gaining 1 power and 1 health every time it dies, what if it gains 1 health every time, and 1 power every other time it dies. That would also keep it in line with the power : health ratio in the rest of the game at 1 : 2. It would have to die 5 times to be equivalent to a grizzly, you could even up the cost to a 3 and then just keep the +1+1 per death. One more idea I've just had is this, the ouroboros would have a new sigil which works similarly to unkillable, however not exactly the same. The difference is that it only returns twice. This means that at maximum capacity, the TCG version of ouroboros could be a 3-3, or equal to an amalgam. I don't know why a player would take ouroboros over amalgam in this scenario, maybe it could become less powerful [The amalgam I mean]?

@@PixelProfligate Kaycee’s mod had a pretty good approach to ourobouros; unless your tabletop Inscryption battles last much longer than the ones we play in the game, having an ourobouros that resets after each battle would be balanced, you’d need to balance a deck around it which could be exploited pretty easily.

This is great, though I would imagine the game would need to be played with ten on either side to win not just five to prevent games from being won in one turn (mantis lord cat combo, I'm looking at you) as easily. I really love the effort you go through on these videos, and look forwards to the other card varieties.

That's actually exactly how I'm running it. Dying in one turn was very common when you only needed 5 damage to win, and it wasn't really fun since there was no real ability to counterplay against things. By increasing the damage needed to win, it's also given more utility to high health low damage cards, which normally aren't very good in the video game. Airborne and Waterborne cards have also become a lot better because of this change too. It's been a lot of fun having River Snapper of all cards actually seeing play and even helping lead to some wins.

This is great! I like how you manage to talk about the cards without talking about mechanics exclusive to the game (like the ability to add sigils). It actually threw me off at first that you weren't talking about beast classes or had them printed on the card, until you got to the amalgam and I realized that there wouldn't be a totem mechanic in a pvp setting. That all being said, my favorite deck is personally the Deadly cards, so I'm excited to see what you do with that. I wonder if you're going to do the fake sigils in Grimora and Magnificus' rulebooks at the end of Act 3.

Honestly just have the totems work like Enchantments in MTG or Continuous Spells work in Yugioh. Requires some sacrifices to play but it stays on the field until either someone plays a creature that destroys it or maybe it only lasts for a few turns and then it goes into the discard pile. And Packrat could allow you to get access to these totems or you just eventually draw into them. There's potential

If an official card game does come out for inscryption, I would love the community to adapt both rulings for drawing cards: A.) start the match with one resource card and three creature cards, and at the start of each round you can draw from the creature deck or the resource deck (acts 1 and 3). B.) all cards are shuffled into one deck, players draw 4 cards from their deck, and must draw 1 card from that deck at the beginning of each round (Exclusive to act 2). I’d like to imagine that it would be a formal agreement between two players on which ruling they will use for their match. Though I don’t know how well the first ruling would work if a player built a hybrid deck…

Okay I want to buy these- I can't really print cards myself but I love how these look- the normal ones and the foil ones. Plus there's still the Undead cards, the Mox cards, and the Tron cards. i looked into the game a bit and found an alternate rule set called Kaycee. it’s like a TTRPG version of Inscryption that players came up with when the game came out, one person makes a map that has different battles and powerups and they act as GM while the other player plays through the map starting with only a couple cards but they get more as they play. have you heard/seen anything about this? it seems pretty interesting.

It's worth noting that geck is only a meme in standard format. It actually had a unique niche in beast decks in a format known as "tokens". This is because it was the only zero cost beast you could have in your main deck in that format, and therefore the only easily available free damage in that format for beasts because of how difficult bees are to get in the tokens format

Bees are a zero cost card with 1 power, 1 health, and the airborne sigil that were restricted to the token deck in the tokens format and therefore could only be drawn with the beehive's sigil, bees within. Also, I THINK pack rat would allow you to draw from your token deck, but I don't quite remember the ruling on that one

Something I would have done is have something on the lines of "patched" variants. A card with greenish blue eyes and has 1 extra sigils not found on the original card. You got a super rare misprint! Mantis-God is missing an R in Trifurcated! Also will we see the rest of the rare cards? I hope you can find The Daus, Amoeba, Child 13, Ouroboros, Strange Larva (and it's subsequent forms), and the Long Elk, which has a common card art only showing it's neck, and a rare card art showing it's head I've heard of but never seen, personally. I will never recover from this realization. As for all those cards, they're unlikely to actually get made, since they have mechanics unique to them, some of which only really work in a video game where you don't have to worry about keeping track of stuff or how many times you've actually sacrificed a card haha. Though, Long Elk is still around, just a part of a different archetype now

I understand making some mechanics work could be a pain, but most of it is fixed with a couple of dice added in. Like two D6 for Child 13, same as a D10 for the Cat. A D10 for Ouroboros, anything higher is unnecessary. Kills any card, survives all but Touch of Death, and wins the game even if you're 1 damage from losing. You could also use a D20 if you're feeling wacky. Alternatively, print several Ouroboros with different X/X stats (within reason... or not. Maybe just make one with crazy stats for a laugh, haha.), and the lore is that the card was printed that way either by mistake and no one knows the true power it was supposed to have, or that it was an intentional gimmick by the people making the game. The true bane of a physical game is the Amoeba. It's mechanic of a random sigil is the hardest thing to manage outside of just having a random number generator, a list, and something to put on the card to show which sigil it has. That, or find some way to rework the sigil entirely like with Pack Rat. I was also thinking you could make Leshy's death card, with the story that a long time ago, it was a trophy for winning an Inscryption tournament. I honestly just want to see as many cards come to life as possible, regardless of if they work in a real life tcg, haha. The art is so nice.

Have you ever come across any cards from the “Kaycee’s Pack” set? I always thought it was super cool of them to memorialize that employee for her contributions to the game. Tragic what happened. And really weird they discontinued those packs so quickly after they were released? Not sure what the deal was with that. Something about it causing issues for competitive play? I remember getting a letter saying if I had purchased a Kaycee’s Pack I could return it via mail for a foil Urayuli with a sigil, but I figured a recalled set would go up in value, so I never went for it. We have a board game night twice a week, and I love inscryption anyways, but I think it'd be the PERFECT game for the whole group. Easy to understand, it's easy to come up with the pieces (besides the scale, though I'm sure someone has already come up with a workaround that) and super fun. It'd be great to have a group of people to test play it and balance things out since there wouldnt be sacrifices or fires to buff up anything, plus it'd be a good idea to get some other rules such as a limit to cards in a deck

Personally I think Geck is good with other game mechanics involved. Idk how it’ll work in a physical card game so it’s probably weak like you said. But if you get fecundity on it in anyway. It’s wild. I got a combo where I ended up getting fecundity on geck and corpse maggots. Get geck down, does it’s thing. Dies. Corpse maggots copies itself and places itself everywhere lol. I think getting fecundity on totem or something with one cost sacrifice is a bit better. After corpse maggots dives in to take the field u can swap them out but geck can’t swap out as it’s free

Honestly I'm hoping that we get Undead archetype cards next in my opinion there the next most practical card type but with them needing some heavy set up in order to actually be good in game is a little bit of a drawback but the cards there are so cool from the Revenant The Headless Horseman they're so cool

As of right now, no plans for totems, since I'm actually basing this mostly off of act 2 stuff. Working on making all the Scrybes have real, physical cards, not just Beast

Jokes aside these look fantastic and I can't wait to see the videos about how meches and deck buildig works (I asume you can't just make a 2 black goats and 2 urayuli deck and there will be a real reason for why one should pick mantis instead of the god).You've done an amazing job so far and I'll be sure to atleast credit you on the box and maybe the back of the cards when I order mine!
